    Abstract: A method of screening a novel BAFF suppressor or inhibitor. More specifically speaking, a method which comprises adding a combination of TPA with ionomycin and/or an anti-CD3 antibody to a cultured human cell to thereby induce the production of BAFF by the cell; a method of screening a substance capable of suppressing the expression or activity of BAFF which comprises adding a test substance to a BAFF-production system prepared by adding a combination of TPA with ionomycin and/or an anti-CD3 antibody to a cultured human cell and measuring the expression amount and/or the activity of BAFF in the BAFF-production system; and a BAFF production inducer for a BAFF-producing cell which contains a combination of TPA with ionomycin and/or an anti-CD3 antibody.

    Abstract: A pyrazolone derivative represented by formula (I) below: wherein R1 to R3 are the same as defined in claims; or an optical isomer, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, or a hydrate or solvate thereof is provided. The novel pyrazolone derivative according to the present invention has a PAI-1 production inhibitory activity, a tissue fibrosis inhibitory activity, and a fibrolytic activity, and is effective for preventing and/or treating tissue fibrotic diseases (lung fibrosis, kidney fibrosis, etc.) and diseases of which a pathological thrombus becomes the cause, such as ischemic cardiac diseases (cardiac infarction and angina pectoris), atrial thrombus, lung embolism, deep thrombophlebitis, disseminated intravascular clotting, ischemic brain diseases (brain infarction, brain hemorrhage), and arterial sclerosis.     Abstract: An ophthalmologic examination apparatus has a main unit housing an illuminating optical system that illuminates a fundus of a subject's eye to be examined and an imaging optical system that images the illuminated eye fundus. First and second attachment units are removably and exchangeably mounted to the main unit for providing different ophthalmologic functions. The first attachment unit houses an imaging device that captures an image of the eye fundus via the imaging optical system housed in the main unit. The second attachment unit houses a light source that emits stimulating light for an electroretinogram and which is projected onto the eye fundus via the imaging optical system housed in the main unit.

    Abstract: An optical object measurement apparatus includes a light source for generating a low-coherent light beam, which is swept via an array of pinholes on a Nipkow disk that rotates about an axis. A beam splitter splits the swept light beam into a probe light beam toward an object to be measured and a reference light beam toward a reference optical path. The probe light beam from the object and the reference light that has traveled along the reference optical path are combined in the beam splitter to produce interference light. A two-dimensional image-capturing device detects the interference light and produces a video signal to provide reflection intensity information of the interior of the object. This allows an interference optical system to be readily realized and tomographic images of an object to be observed at high levels of resolution and contrast.
