Abstract: A Method and apparatus to accurately measure and display various properties of hydrocarbons and petroleum factions for a small volume of sample in a short period of time in one test with less cost and energy for the analysis by the method of light refection. The refraction of light through the sample is measured and compared to the refraction f the light through vacuum by the apparatus. The method of the invention comprises a property estimation from the apparatus to output a property estimate value. The property estimation means is equipped with a property estimation model for evaluating the property estimate value outputted from the property estimation model. The method is incorporated into standard or otherwise any refractive index test apparatus or refractometer to provide accurate measure of the thermodynamic and transport properties of pure hydrocarbons and undefined multicomponent mixtures such as petroleum factions.

Abstract: The enhydrazone esters for treating asthma, allergy, and inflammation relate to the use of two cyclohexenone derivatives and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof in the treatment of asthma, allergies, and inflammation. The esters have the formula: wherein R is ethyl or methyl. Administration of the esters inhibits the degranulation of eosinophils, the degranulation of mast cells, and the release or expression of tumor necrosis factor-α, thereby alleviating the debilitating symptoms of asthma, allergic reactions, and inflammatory responses.

Abstract: The circuit and method for increasing the scan cell observability of response compactors is based on manipulation of x distribution in responses prior to taking them through a compactor. An x-align block is capable of delaying scan chains by judiciously computed values, and thus aligning x's within the same slices. The x-alignment is effected in the insertion of proper control data to the generic x-align hardware. As a result, fewer scan cells are masked due to response x's into other cells, reflecting into enhanced test quality. An ILP formulation can be used to identify the delay assignment that leads to the maximum number of observable scan cells. Alternatively, a computationally efficient greedy heuristic can be used to attain near-optimal results in reasonable run-time. Thus, the x-align block enhances the effectiveness of response compactors and reaps high test quality, even in the dense presence of response x's.
