Abstract:
An environmentally friendly dual lube venturi filter cartridge which has no metallic components. A plastic centertube having a venturi section supports a bypass filter element on standoffs molded into the centertube. An outer concentric full flow filter element surrounds the bypass filter. The full flow filter is supported on a plastic centertube which creates a gap between it and the bypass filter. A first bypass filter endcap both seals the bypass filter and provides standoffs for allowing full flow oil around the bypass filter. The standoffs thus split the full flow which progresses through the primary filter in two paths, a primary path around the bypass filter and into the centertube, and a bypass path through the secondary filter and the venturi. Plastic upper and lower endcaps carry grooves for simple sealing gaskets, a radial seal gasket on the bottom which seals against both the endcap which carries it and a flange in the housing, and an axial seal gasket at the top.
Abstract:
A fuel-water separation filtration system for filtering fuel and for separating water out of the fuel includes a housing assembly, a filter element assembly, and a closing lid. The housing assembly includes a unitary molded housing, a plurality of flow connection fittings that are spin welded into the housing, and a standpipe that is spin welded to the housing. The filter element assembly includes a cover and an endplate and filter media with one end bonded to the cover and an opposite end bonded to the endplate. The standpipe includes an attachment portion that extends beyond the upper end of the filter element assembly and the closing lid is threadedly attached to the attachment portion for closing the housing assembly. The filtration system requires pressurization for proper operation and the filtration system cannot be pressurized without the filter element assembly being installed.
Abstract:
A fuel filter system, particularly a diesel filter, including a housing, a particle filter arranged in the housing, and a coalescer element mounted on the particle filter. Fuel passes successively through the serially connected coalescer and particle filter. The coalescer element improves the separation of any water contained in the fuel to be filtered, while exhibiting no or no significant fuel-filtering properties.
Abstract:
The inventive filter element (10) is suitable for installation in a fluid filter which is provided for cleaning a freeze-endangered fluid. The fluid filter has a housing (37) with a housing pot (38) and a housing cover (39). The filter element (10) is situated in the housing pot (38), with the housing cover (39) being screwed to the housing pot (38) with a seal. The filter element (10) has a first end disk (11) and a second end disk (12), a filter medium (13) being introduced between the end disk (11, 12). The end disks (11, 12) are mutually connected by a supporting element (30), the supporting element (30) preventing radial relative movements between the end disks (11, 12). In the axial direction, the supporting element (30) has snap hooks (25) which connect the first end disk (11) undetachably to the second end disk (12). Due to this connection, the second end disk (12) can be reliably removed from the housing pot (38) by pulling on the first end disk (11).
Abstract:
A filter includes a filter element with an enlarged end cap at one end of a media ring with an elliptical flange set oblique or angled to the longitudinal axis of the element. The flange carries a sealing element, and is closely and sealingly received in a head casting of the filter to divide the head casting into inlet and outlet partitions. The end cap directs fluid from a transverse port in the housing into an axial flow path into the central cavity of the element, where the fluid flows radially outward through the media, and then out through an opposite transverse port in the head casting. The element can be removed when it is spent from the head casting after removal of an end closure.
Abstract:
A filtration module (10) is provided which includes a manifold (12), a filter cartridge (16) and a bowl (14) which houses the filter cartridge (16). The filter cartridge (16) and bowl (14) are connected to each other by a flange (15) on an end cap (30) of the filter cartridge (160) which fits into collar (34) on the bowl to form a unitary construction. The filter cartridge (16) and bowl (14) are in fluid communication with the manifold (12) in a manner which prevents mixing of a fluid feed to the module (10) and a permeate removed from the module (10).
Abstract:
A bowl-cartridge filter includes a filter cartridge and a bowl. The filter cartridge includes an interlock arrangement that is oriented to engage the filter bowl, when the filter cartridge is mounted in the filter bowl, and the bowl is rotated in a direction to remove the bowl-cartridge filter from a filter head. The filter bowl includes a cooperating interlock arrangement that engages the interlock arrangement on the filter cartridge. Example embodiments include cog arrangements, which include a plurality of projecting teeth. Various shapes for the teeth are possible, including house-shaped, truncated A-shaped, and pie wedged shape.
Abstract:
A module is provided which includes a manifold, an elongated medium capable of effecting mass transfer or energy transfer through the medium and a bowl which houses the medium. The medium and bowl are connected to each other by a key which is secured to flat surfaces on the medium to form a unitary construction. The medium and bowl are in fluid communication with the manifold in a manner which prevents mixing of a first fluid feed and a second fluid feed to the module.

Abstract:
A filter element and assembly for fluid applications which require a purging of air, and particularly for applications where the filter element is horizontally oriented (side loaded), where the filter element is rotationally positioned relative to the housing such that a vent orifice is properly located for venting air from the filter element as the element fills with fluid. The housing includes a cylindrical body with a closed end a threaded open end, and a threaded, cup-shaped cover which is screwed down onto the housing. The filter element and housing include i) cooperating retaining devices which temporarily couple the filter element to the housing cover when the element is initially inserted into the housing and the cover is initially screwed onto the housing; and ii) cooperating orientation devices which rotationally orient the filter element in the housing as the housing cover is further and fully screwed down onto the housing.
