During the blowing through of air, an air cushion forms which allows to laterally displace and position the sleeve on the metal core. After the blowing of the air is stopped, the sleeve contracts and tightly embraces the conical rigid elastomeric layer (4).

摘要： Printing apparatus utilizing flexible metal sleeves for ink transfer comprises means for mounting the sleeves in cylindrical configuration on a structure which enables the cylindrical configuration to be maintained by air pressure. The sleeves are of the type which is made by electrodepositing metal in a form that is very thin, readily collapsible and imperforate.The sleeve of the apparatus is provided on its exterior with a coating of flexible, microcrystalline, wholly inorganic photoconductive material such as sputtered ultrapure cadmium sulfide.The sleeve is mounted in a press having means to cooperate with the sleeve for maintaining its pressure and for stopping the press if the pressure should drop below a predetermined value.

摘要： A loading arrangement for obtaining an equally distributed pressure load in a cylinder stack included in a printing unit of an offset printing press, comprising a plurality of cylinders each having a cylindrical body portion and stub shafts at both ends, journalled in bearings. The arrangement includes axially short load rollers for producing a pressure load to the outermost cylinders of the stack. The rollers are located to act on portions between the bearings of the cylinders, and hence, the pressure load is transmitted directly to the body portions of the outermost cylinders. This minimizes the deflection of the cylinders.
