    摘要: Methods and systems are provided to wrap a faired tether around a drum. The tether may be connected to an aerial vehicle. The method may involve guiding a faired tether around an exterior surface of a drum, wherein the drum comprises a helical shaped step around the exterior surface that is configured to mate with at least part of the faired tether, and to stack subsequent layers of wrapped tether in a staggered manner along the longitudinal axis of the drum. The faired tether may be guided onto the step using one or more level winds.

    摘要: A long fiber reinforced plastic strand production device is provided with: a rotary type haul-off machine which forms a long fiber reinforced plastic strand by drawing out a reinforcing fiber bundle which has been impregnated with a plastic from an impregnation head while rotating the reinforcing fiber bundle around the axis thereof to apply twists in the reinforcing fiber bundle, and draws in the formed long fiber reinforced plastic strand; and a rotary type winding-up machine which introduces the long fiber reinforced plastic strand drawn from the rotary type haul-off machine to a winding bobbin while rotating the long fiber reinforced plastic strand around the axis of the strand in the same direction as the rotation direction of the reinforcing fiber bundle rotated by the rotary type haul-off machine, and winds the rotated long fiber reinforced plastic strand around the winding bobbin. The rotary type winding-up machine is constituted to be capable of rotating the long fiber reinforced plastic strand at a number of rotation smaller than the number of rotation of the reinforcing fiber bundle by the rotary type haul-off machine.

    摘要: A process for winding a fiber strand about a bobbin to form a wound package includes: (a) winding a fiber strand about a portion of a bobbin supported upon a rotatable collector of a winder to form a primary layer of a wound package. The primary layer has an overall length, an upper portion and a lower portion. Each of the upper portion and lower portion have a length which is less than the overall length. The primary layer has a plurality of sublayers, each of the plurality of sublayers having a plurality of layers. Each of the plurality of layers of the sublayers is successively wound upon a preceding layer and has a length which is less than the preceding layer. Each of the plurality of layers of the sublayers has an outer layer having a length which corresponds generally to the length of the lower portion, such that the primary layer is formed. A secondary layer is formed thereon which includes a plurality of layers upon the primary layer. Each of the plurality of layers is successively wound upon a preceding layer and has a length which is less than the preceding layer. The length of each of the plurality of layers has a midpoint which corresponds to a midpoint of the overall length of the primary layer, such that a wound package is formed.
