摘要: Multiple horizontal axis type rotors are coaxially attached along the upper section of an elongate torque transmitting tower/driveshaft. The tower/driveshaft projects upward from a cantilevered bearing means, and is bent downwind, until the rotors become sufficiently aligned with the wind to rotate the entire tower/driveshaft. Power is drawn from the shaft at the base. Surface mount, subsurface mount, and marine installations, including a sailboat, are disclosed. Blade-to-blade lashing, and vertical axis rotor blades may also be included. Vertical and horizontal axis type rotor blades may be interconnected along the length of the tower/driveshaft to form a structural lattice, and the central shaft may even be eliminated. Aerodynamic lifting bodies or tails, buoyant lifting bodies, buoyant rotor blades, and methods of influencing the tilt of the rotors, can help elevate the structure. This wind turbine can have as few as one single moving part.

摘要: A portable generator includes: a case having a front, symmetrical air-foil shaped sidewalls, Kamm tail rear and flat base; a wind turbine; a telescoping shaft hingedly connected to the case base for supporting the wind turbine, in a horizontal and a range of vertical positions for receiving wind without the case; an offset air entrance hole within the case front for directing ambient air towards the wind turbine when in the case; an elliptical, funnel-shaped channel extending from the air entrance hole towards the turbine blades capturing the wind from the air entrance hole and directing it towards the turbine blade assembly; an air escape hole within the case rear for directing air out of the case; ties for holding the pole in a vertical position; one or more batteries for supplying DC power to an AC inverter; an inverter DC for converting AC from the generator unit; a solar array for augmenting and supplying DC power to the batteries; the AC inverter to supply energy to AC electrical equipment; an electrical outlet connected to the inverter; and, a hinged somewhat rounded cover for the case that in horizontal position forms a water tight seal with the sidewalls for the case and in vertical position allows for redirection of the solar array. The cover is secured to the case via a locking hinge arrangement. The case also includes retractable wheels and handle to allow for removal and relocation of the power generator.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for control of a flying wing. The flying wing is arranged to be controlled to move along a predetermined trajectory by means of a fluid stream passing a wing of the flying wing. The flying wing comprises at least one control surface for controlling the movement of the flying wing along the predetermined trajectory. The flying wing is positioned in a reference frame where the x-axis is directed horizontally along a level L above which the flying wing moves, the y-axis is perpendicular to the x-axis in a vertical direction and the z-axis is perpendicular to the x-axis along the level L in a direction along the principal direction of the fluid stream. The invention further relates to a system comprising a flying wing and a computer-readable medium for use with a flying wing.

摘要: An electrical energy generation system includes an electricity generator assembly from which a tensile line extends. The electricity generator assembly is configured to retract the tensile line and generate electricity upon extension of the tensile line. A vented airfoil assembly is attached to the tensile line. The vented airfoil assembly includes an airfoil through which at least one or more vent holes are defined. Each vent hole is entirely surrounded in surface perspective by the airfoil. A vent assembly is positioned in each vent hole. Each vent assembly has an open configuration in which the vent assembly permits airflow through the airfoil and a closed configuration in which the vent assembly restricts airflow through the airfoil. Each vent assembly is controllable such that the vented airfoil assembly constitutes a maneuverable kite.
