Abstract: A magnetic closure bumper assembly is used in conjunction with a movable structure that engages a stationary structure. The magnetic bumper assembly includes a first closure bumper and a second closure bumper. The first closure bumper includes a first bumper casing in which a first magnet is disposed. The first bumper casing has a mounting surface configured for attachment to the movable structure and an engagement surface opposing the mounting surface. The second closure bumper includes a second bumper casing in which a second magnet is disposed. The second bumper casing has a mounting surface configured for attachment to the stationary structure and an engagement surface opposing the mounting surface. Magnetic attraction between the first and second magnets causes the first closure bumper to be attracted to the second closure bumper, thereby urging the engagement surface of the first bumper casing to removably contact the engagement surface of the second bumper casing as the movable structure is moved toward the stationary structure.

Abstract: A vehicle barrier gate system which is positioned above a roadway through which vehicles pass. Some of the various embodiments of the present disclosure include a gate comprised of an arm and barrier which is adjustable between a raised position in which a vehicle may pass and a lowered position in which a vehicle is prevented from passing. The gate may be movably connected to a ceiling or an overhead support structure positioned above the roadway. Various types of actuators may be utilized to adjust the gate along a linear and/or angular path between the raised and lowered positions. A control unit may be in communication with one or more sensors and/or an authorization system to control the actuator. The gate may include a breakaway mechanism which allows the gate to be manually raised or lowered in the event of actuator failure or a vehicle ramming through the gate.

Abstract: An access door may include a core, stiles on opposites sides of the core, an elongated panel extending transversely between the stiles, wherein a major face of the door between the stiles defines one or more recessed pockets along a top edge of the elongated panel between and the stiles and the elongated panel, and a notch formed into the top edge of the elongated panel and extending along at least one of the recessed pockets, the notch extending downwardly into the top edge of the elongated panel so as to form a lip in the top edge of the elongated panel with the notch positioned between the lip and the one or more recessed pockets, the lip and the notch of the elongated panel together forming an accessory rail, wherein the accessory rail is configured to receive and support a complementarily configured hanger base of an accessory hanger.

Abstract: The present invention provides a locking device for a waste container that keeps the lid of the container closed when the container is knocked over on its side, as may arise from a sudden jerking or jarring motion, such as by impact with the ground, to prevent spillage of its contents. The locking device allows the lid to open automatically when the waste container is tipped over by a dumping operation. The locking device includes a sliding block slidable between a locked position and an open position, and a pendulum weight detachably attached to a magnet, when detached from the magnet, the pendulum weight blocks the sliding block from sliding to the open position. When attached to the magnet, the pendulum weight allows the sliding block to slide to the open position.

Abstract: A shaft-mounted overhead door operator is disclosed having a motor, a torque transfer component such as a gear train, and a clutch that is axially movable to engage or disengage the clutch. While the door operator has power, the clutch is engaged to ensure door operator can raise, lower, and stop the overhead door as directed from a remote control. The clutch can be released in the event of a loss of power or by direction from the remote control in which case the clutch releases the shaft of the overhead door. The shaft-mounted overhead door is small, having a width no greater than three times the diameter of the shaft to which it is mounted.

Abstract: A door component has a controllable damper device that contains a magnetorheological fluid as a working fluid. Two connection units of the damper device can be moved relative to each other. One of the two connection units can be connected to a support structure, and the other connection unit can be connected to a pivotal door device in order to damp a movement of the door device between a closed position and an open position in a controlled manner. The magnetorheological damper device has a piston unit and a cylinder unit which surrounds the piston unit. The piston unit divides a cylinder volume into two chambers. The piston unit has a first piston rod, which extends through the first chamber, and a second piston rod, which extends through the second chamber.

Abstract: A method for damping a movement of a door system of a vehicle that is equipped with a damping system having an adjustable and controllable damping action. A movement of the door system between a closed position and an open position is damped in a controlled manner. A measurement of the change in speed of the speed of movement of the door system is calculated and if the change in speed exceeds a predefined limit value, a set, gentle damping action is changed over to a greater damping action.

Abstract: A trackless free-swinging bi-fold door that eliminates the standard guide tracks of conventional bi-fold doors and replaces them with two pivot pin hinges, a simple door modification and a magnet catch. The door modification consists of a spring mechanism connecting the two door panels. The door can be opened as a straight swinging door, and as a conventional bi-fold door. A hinge attaches the door to a door panel that allows the door to swing entirely out of the way of the door portal.

Abstract: A system and method for inhibiting inadvertent movement of a window sash out of a fully open position. Brake shoes travel in the guide tracks as the window sash is moved between a fully open position and a fully closed position. A stop is mounted within the guide tracks. The brake shoe and the stop contact and interconnect when the window sash is moved to its fully open position. The brake shoe is separable from the stop when a closing force is manually applied to the window sash that acts to move the window sash away from its fully open position. The force applied must exceed a threshold level. In this manner, the window sash will remain in its fully open position and will not inadvertently drift closed due to gravity, vibrations or contact with another window sash.
