A plasma cutting device performs cutting in a plurality of stages. In a first cutting sub-process, a manufactured product is cut out from a base material upon a stage according to an NC program. Next, images of respective regions in the vicinities of proper positions at two corner points of the manufactured product which has been cut out are photographed by an image sensor, the actual positions of these two corner points of the manufactured product are detected from these images which have been photographed, and the translation distances and the rotational angle between the actual positions which have been detected and the proper positions are calculated. The NC program is corrected. And, in a subsequent cutting sub-process, additional cutting for beveling is carried out upon cutting surfaces at the outer circumference of the manufactured product, according to the corrected NC program.

A cut optimization system controls chatter in a machine tool during a cutting operation. A microphone is configured to capture acoustic noise emitted by the machine tool during the cutting operation and to generate an AC signal corresponding to the captured acoustic noise. A filter is configured to attenuate frequencies of the AC signal outside of a frequency band and a rectifier is configured to rectify the filtered AC signal into a DC component. A controller is configured to compare the DC component with a threshold value and, if the DC component is greater than the threshold, cyclically vary the rotational speed of a spindle in the machine tool from a commanded speed.

An object of this invention is to generate NC (Numerical Control) data to improve efficiency of machining. This invention comprises the steps of: generating NC data to machine a first portion of an object, wherein the first portion is specified based on a supposed cutting load distribution of the object; and generating NC data to machine the object after the first portion of the object was machined. Thus, at least two-phase machining data is generated which is separated based on high or low of the supposed cutting load, for example. That is, a tool machine processes the object stepwise. Therefore, it becomes possible that a portion is machined in advance, that it is determined that it is better to machine beforehand based on the supposed cutting load distribution, and the object after the machining is separately machined.
