摘要: A hearing aid with an assembly, the assembly includes: a microphone; a signal processor for processing a first audio signal into a second audio signal compensating a hearing loss of a user; a wireless communication unit configured for wireless data communication; and an antenna for emission of an electromagnetic field, the antenna being coupled with the wireless communication unit, the antenna having a total length between three quarters of a wavelength of the emitted electromagnetic field and five quarters of the wavelength; wherein a part of the antenna extends from a first side of the assembly to a second side of the assembly; and wherein the antenna has a midpoint located at the part of the antenna extending from the first side to the second side, or a distance between the midpoint of the antenna and the part of the antenna is less than a quarter of the wavelength.

摘要: An apparatus related to earmolds with venting configurations designed to relieve the occlusion effect. Various designs provide multiple vents allow residual ear canal air volume to vent to and from air outside the ear and the earmold. In various designs, the earmold includes one vent between the residual ear canal air volume and a volume of air internal to the earmold. A second vent provides passage of air internal to the earmold and air external to the ear and the inserted earmold when worn by a user.

摘要: Disclosed herein, among other things, are systems and methods for input stage headroom expansion for hearing assistance devices. One aspect of the present subject matter includes a hearing assistance device. According to various embodiments, the hearing assistance device includes an input stage including a microphone configured with variable sensitivity, and hearing assistance electronics connected to the microphone. The hearing assistance electronics are configured to process a signal received by the microphone for hearing assistance for a wearer of the hearing assistance device, in an embodiment. A receiver is connected to the hearing assistance electronics and configured to output the processed signal to the user, in various embodiments. According to various embodiments, the hearing assistance electronics are configured to dynamically change the sensitivity of the microphone to change headroom of the input stage.

摘要: A cochlear implant system includes: an electrode array implanted within a cochlea; an internal processor in communication with the electrode array; an implanted antenna which is electrically coupled to the internal processor; and a modular external headpiece which is removably positioned over the implanted antenna, the modular external headpiece including a core containing a sound processor for processing sound and providing a corresponding signal to the implanted antenna; and a modular component configured to releasably engage the core and supply electrical power to the core. A modular speech processor headpiece includes a core comprising a microphone and sound processor for producing a signal representing ambient sound to be transmitted to a cochlear implant, the core further comprising a number of electrical contacts; and a modular component containing a number of electrical contacts corresponding to the electrical contacts of the core; wherein the core is configured to engage with the modular component such that electrical communication is made between the core and the modular component.

摘要: The invention describes a hearing device with a BTE (Behind-The-Ear) unit and an air filled tube. The BTE unit comprises a power source, a microphone, an amplifier, and a receiver and is configured to be mounted behind or on the ear of a user. The air filled tube as a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the air filled tube is connected to the receiver of the BTE unit and a flexible sealing part is provided at the distal end. The flexible sealing part comprises a core hole permeable for sound transmitted from the air filled tube through a core pathway. The air filled tube is further configured to be arranged in a user's ear canal to transmit sound generated by the BTE unit to a tympanic membrane of the user. The flexible sealing part is arranged in a bony portion of the user's ear canal when in use. The diameter of the flexible sealing part is at least as large as the diameter of the bony portion of the ear canal of a user to close the ear canal.
