摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for shaving the inside of barrels. In particular, the present invention relates to reconditioning used wine barrels by shaving the inside surface to a predetermined depth, ready for re-crozering, toasting, and re-use. Conventional shaving methods typically involve routing the internal surface by hand, but this technique is problematic in that it is a very slow process, the quality of the wood is often adversely affected, and there is no way of ensuring that the surface will be shaved to the same depth across the entire surface. Therefore, the resultant internal dimensions of the barrel are not reflective, relatively, of the original barrel surface. The apparatus of the present invention includes a scanning means adapted to scan the internal dimensions of the barrel, and a cutting means adapted to shave the internal surface to a predetermined depth relative to the scanned internal dimensions.

摘要: A tyre tread compacting apparatus includes a carrier for carrying a part of a tyre to be disposed of, the carrier having a pair of opposed sides. A mounting arrangement is arranged on a first side of the carrier for mounting on a support formation. A coiling mechanism is arranged on an opposed, second side of the carrier for coiling the part of a tyre to be disposed of into a compacted form. A tyre coiling tool is provided to be arranged in juxtaposition to the carrier to provide mechanical advantage to assist in coiling the part of the tyre about the coiling mechanism.

摘要: A method for the cutting of underwater structures below the level of the sea bottom on which they are installed, comprises determining an ideal plane of cutting, having considered the characteristic features of the structure i.e. its morphology and its positioning on the bottom, the shape and consistency of the bottom itself, and the depth below the level of the bottom at which the cut must be effected; positioning and anchoring of a cutter in proximity of the cutting area; obtainment of at least one perforation or boring in proximity of the structure through the bottom at least up to the predetermined level for the cutting of the structure, along a direction parallel to the cutting direction and preferably lying on the cutting plane; and introduction of the cutter inside the perforation or boring and cutting of the structure. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also provided.

摘要: An apparatus, system, and method for punching holes at any location along the length of an elongate hollow body comprising an expandable die which is insertable into the elongate hollow body. The elongate hollow body may have any shape and be of any length. In operation, the expandable die cooperates with the punch or punches of an external, conventional punch press. The expandable die self-aligns its die cavity or cavities with the punch or punches of the external punch press. The expandable die can expand to support the elongate hollow body during the punching operation to avoid denting or other damage to the elongate hollow body.

摘要: A mandrel apparatus for a tube cutting machine in which the mandrel apparatus is moved into the open end of the tubing advancing along the feed axis of the tubing as the tubing is moved by the feed means into a cutting position. The mandrel apparatus includes a stop member which is mounted for movement between a stop position in which it is positioned across the tube feed path at a location along the feed axis between a rest position of the mandrel and the cutting station and a clear position in which it is pivoted upwardly clear of the feed path. The mandrel apparatus further includes a stripper member having a stripper surface positioned along the feed axis across the feed path between the stop position of the stop member and the rest position of the mandrel. As the tubing is advanced along the feed axis, the mandrel assembly is moved in the opposite direction along the feed axis to pass the mandrel into the advancing open end of the tubing and move the mandrel to the cutting plane within the tubing whereafter, following cutting of the tubing and movement of the stop member to its clear position, the mandrel assembly is moved toward its rest position to move the trailing edge of the cut tubing clear of the cutting station and move the leading edge of the cut tubing against the stripper surface and strip the cut tubing from the mandrel assembly.

摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for formation of tubular segments from a generally continuous tube of material by internally cutting the tube of material. The apparatus of the present invention includes a forming mandrel upon which the tube of material to be cut is carried, and upon which the tube is preferably spirally wound. The apparatus further includes a rotary cutter assembly mounted within the forming mandrel. The cutter assembly includes a cutter arbor and a blade actuating rod, with one or more cutting blades of the cutter assembly operatively associated with the actuating rod and the arbor such that relative axial movement of the actuating rod and the cutter arbor moves the cutting blades inwardly and outwardly of the forming mandrel of the apparatus. A cam mechanism is provided for effecting this desired relative axial movement. Significantly, the present apparatus facilitates very high speed formation of tubular segments by axially moving the cutting blades of the cutter assembly in the direction of advancement of the tube of material along the forming mandrel during internal cutting of the tube by the cutting blades.
