摘要: A system and method for replaying the activity on request to individuals and to the group at large within a virtual reality (VR) arena for training and efficiency improvement purposes from within the VR system or outside is disclosed. The virtual reality (VR) system does real time tracking and response feedback to the players, using light markers and cameras connected to multiple slave-server systems that are controlled by a master-server. The hierarchical data collection system collects all the activity and tracking data from the arena. The master-server combines and correlates all the data collected from the VR arena and sends that to the game-server to be saved in a dedicated storage memory coupled to the game server. This data is then played back as VR play back on request to individuals or to all players and supervisory staff within or outside the VR arena for training and efficiency improvement purposes.

Moreover, the video game device calculates movement parameter data used for moving, with respect to a fixed point in the virtual space uniquely determined based on a position of the controlled object, the point of sight to a position that is determined by a direction in the virtual space based on a direction of the difference vector and a distance in the virtual space based on a magnitude of the difference vector. The point of sight is moved based on the movement parameter data. The video game device produces an image based on a virtual camera, which has been moved according to the movement of the point of sight, and displays the image on the screen of a display device.

摘要: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for rendering images directly to a video encoder are disclosed. A game engine includes an embedded rendering unit configured to render images in different color spaces depending on the mode. The rendering unit renders images for a first color space only to be driven directly to a display while operating in a first mode. The rendering unit renders images for a second color space only which are provided directly to a video encoder while operating in a second mode. In a third mode, the rendering unit renders images for both color spaces. In one embodiment, the first color space is RGB and the second color space is YUV. The game engine also generates a plurality of attributes associated with each rendered image and the video encoder encodes each rendered image into an encoded bitstream based on the attributes associated with the rendered image.

摘要: Optimizations are provided for facilitating optimal viewing positions for viewing virtual objects in VR environments. Initially, user selection of a virtual object being rendered in a VR display is detected. Subsequently, an optimal viewing position is dynamically calculated based on one or more characteristic of the virtual object to be viewed. A predetermined triggering event is also detected, and in response to the predetermined triggering event, a scene which is arranged to display the selected virtual object from the optimal viewing position is rendered in the VR display.

摘要: In some embodiments, a detecting endpoint system accessing a shared virtual environment detects a collision between a target avatar and an object within the shared virtual environment. The detecting endpoint system transmits a location change notification for a head of the target avatar. An observer endpoint system moves the head of the target avatar based on the location change notification. A target endpoint system associated with the target avatar does not move its viewpoint based on the location change notification. In some embodiments, this decoupling of viewpoint from the avatar allows for a more immersive experience for all users.
