摘要: A method for providing a single user multiple presence implementation may include providing access for a user identified by a user account to a virtual environment hosted by a computer. The method may further include generating multiple avatars for the user account to concurrently coexist and be operative within the virtual environment. The method may further include controlling the multiple avatars at least partly in response to input from the user. The method may further include communicating virtual environment data regarding more than one of the multiple avatars to at least one client operated by the user. An apparatus for performing the method may include a processor coupled to a memory holding encoded instructions for performing operations of the method on a computer configured as a network entity.

摘要: A video server is configured to provide streaming video to players of computer games over a computing network. The video server can provided video of different games to different players simultaneously. This is accomplished by rendering several video streams in parallel using a single GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). The output of the GPU is provided to graphics processing pipelines that are each associated with a specific client/player and are dynamically allocated as needed. A client qualifier may be used to assure that only clients capable of presenting the streaming video to a player at a minimum level of quality receive the video stream. Video frames provided by the video server optionally include overlays added to the output of the GPU. These overlays can include voice data received from another game player.

User sensor data is captured from a plurality of sensor capture devices relative to an associated user so as to be transmitted to a gameplay server. The gameplay server executes instructions to generate a user interface on a user's client computing device for providing gameplay on each user client portable computing device utilizing, and pertinent to, the captured sensor data.

摘要: A computing system is configured to execute a computer program on a server and to provide a video stream of the program output to a geographically remote client over a communication network. The computing system is further configured to provide executable content of the computer program to the client over the communication network in parallel with the video stream. When a sufficient amount of the executable content has been provided to the client execution of the computer program is transitioned from the server to the client. The transition optionally includes communicating a state of the computer program from the server to the client. The executable content can be provided to the client in an order that is determined based on the state of the computer program. Those parts of the executable content deemed most likely to be necessary to support game play on the client are given priority.

摘要: A system and method are described for an online game service. One method includes receiving a request from a client device interacting with a game application. The request is received by a server of the online game service. Then, receiving a control signal from the client device in response to an input made when interacting with the game application. The control signal is transmitted over a communication channel between the client device and the server. Executing a game associated with the game application by the server to generate a video stream comprising a sequence of images. Compressing the sequence of images of the application in accordance with a compression process to generate a compressed sequence of images using a compression resource used by said server and at least one other server of said online game service. The compression resource includes compression hardware or hardware running software that handles the compression of sequences of images for each of the servers executing games for the online game service. A state of each compressing operation processed for each of the servers is stored to enable the compression resource to take input from at least two of the servers and switch context of taking said input from among the two or more servers as the compression resource cycles taking input from among said respective two or more servers. And, sending respective compressed sequences of images to the client device or other client devices using the online game service via outbound routing that processes output of said compression resource.
