Abstract:
A protector with a sensor is installed on a sliding door for detecting an object by touch between two core wires in a hollow part. In a terminal part of the protector with the sensor, the core wires drawn out are connected with leads joined with a control unit. A primary seal is formed by means of injection molding for covering wire connection parts and another end side of an insert while also covering a skin of a wire harness which ties and coats the two leads. A secondary seal is formed by means of the injection molding for coating a part formed with the primary seal and for forming an external shape of a product.
Abstract:
An instrument driving device includes a magnet which rotates; a driving gear coaxial with the magnet; an output gear driven by the magnet; a needle pointer shaft which has a needle pointer mounted thereon and rotatably supports the output gear; a transmission gear which transmits rotation of the driving gear to the output gear; and a case which accommodates parts of the driving device elements, wherein a stopper and a bearing part which rotatably supports the needle pointer shaft are provided in the case, a protrusion which makes contact with the stopper is formed in the output gear, a contact point with which the needle pointer shaft makes contact is formed in the bearing part, and the end section at the protrusion side of the stopper is in the same position as the contact point in the axial direction of the needle pointer shaft.
Abstract:
A tip clearance probe includes at least one anti-rotation feature within the probe housing that prevents a sensor component from rotating when the tip clearance probe fails due to extraordinary wear and tear.
Abstract:
A method of detecting a stall condition in a stepper motor with very little movement of an instrument pointer coupled to the stepper motor. The stepper motor rotates the instrument pointer in a first direction towards a pointer stop by a plurality of micro-steps. The stepper motor then rotates the pointer in the first direction at least one additional micro-step while monitoring a back electro-motive force (EMF) produced by the stepper motor. If the instrument pointer is abutting the pointer stop, then the stepper motor will be compressed slightly. If the back EMF is below a predetermined threshold, then the stepper motor is in a stall condition. The instrument pointer can then be micro-stepped in a second direction opposite the first direction to a micro-rotor offset value (μROV) position.
Abstract:
According to a method for initializing an indicating instrument for a vehicle, zero-reset processing is performed. In the zero-reset processing, a control device is made to control a drive signal to rotate a pointer in a zero-reset direction in order to force a step motor to lose synchronization. Furthermore, synchronization loss detection processing is performed. In the detection processing, a physical phenomenon generated in a rotary drive system due to forcible synchronization loss of the motor during the zero-reset processing, is detected. Then, an electrical angle of the drive signal at a time of detection of the phenomenon is selected as a synchronization loss electrical angle. Finally, zero point setting processing is performed. In the setting processing, the electrical angle phase-shifted from the synchronization loss electrical angle in an indication value increasing direction by 180 degrees or less, is set as a zero point stored in the control device.
Abstract:
There is provided a method of returning a pointer driven by a motor to an origin point disposed between a starting point and an endpoint of a movement range of the pointer, the method comprising the steps of: moving the pointer from an arbitrary point in the movement range to a reference point that is away from the starting point by not less than a distance between the starting point and the origin point; thereafter moving the pointer from the reference point toward the starting point; detecting the pointer by a sensor at a detection point whose relative position with respect to the origin point is known; and stopping, when the pointer at the detection point is detected, the pointer moving from the reference point toward the starting point at a predetermined point of time based on timing of the detection of the pointer at the detection point.
Abstract:
An illuminated knob assembly includes a base. The base includes an annular track on an upper base surface of the base. A PC board is disposed in the track. The PC board includes a plurality of light sources disposed on an upper board surface of the board. A light transmitting plate is positioned over the PC board so as to transmit light therethrough from the light sources. A bezel is fitted over the light transmitting plate and includes gradated openings corresponding to different conditions of operation. The openings permit light to pass therethrough from the light transmitting plate and a knob is disposed adjacent the bezel. The knob includes a light pointer configured to receive and transmit light from the light transmitting plate.
Abstract:
The subject matter of the invention is a checking device for use in hotel refrigerators and other lockable self-service apparatuses. In order to be able to determine simply and quickly whether the apparatuses were opened and, if so, whether any of their contents were removed, an indicator means automatically actuated upon opening of the apparatus is installed in the interior of the apparatus so as to be safeguarded against unauthorized manipulation, the indicator means having an externally visible indicating element. The indicator means may be coupled with the door lock or with the handle of the apparatus and may include a slide which is actuated when the apparatus is opened and mechanically activates the externally visible indicating element.
Abstract:
Tamper proof apparatus for verification that a critical temperature has been reached or exceeded includes a permanently sealed casing and cap containing a thermal element connected to a rotatable cam having a temperature indicator extending outwardly therefrom adapted to rest under a transparent window in the cap when critical temperature has been reached. Maximum and minimum temperature stops on the cap prevent movement of the indicator beyond preselected positions. An opening through the cap engages a removable shipping pin cooperating with either the maximum or minimum temperature stop to prevent movement of the indicator during shipment or storage. A locking spring connected to the cap traverses the lateral surface of the cam until the spring engages a shoulder formed in the cam. The shoulder and spring have, respectively, a first spur and a second spur that engage in permanently locked position when a critical temperature has been reached. As described heretofore, the cam, spring, and maximum and minimum temperature stops can be arranged, prior to sealing the cap and casing to indicate that either a maximum or a minimum temperature has been reached. Another embodiment has two separate spring mounting positions, and two separate cam shoulders, which alternatively can be arranged, prior to sealing, to verify that either a maximum or a minimum has been reached.
Abstract:
Recording instrument marker mounting assembly is provided so that the marker can be pivoted relative to a mounting leg of the assembly which mounting leg is to be connected to an operating shaft of the recording instrument. In this manner, the lateral position of the marker can be adjusted relative to the recorder paper or chart which is to be imprinted upon. The mounting assembly comprises a mounting leg to be connected with the operating shaft, a cam connecting a marker support arm and the mounting leg, and cam follower means positioned on the support arm. Pivotal movement of the support arm relative to the mounting leg is actuated by rotation of the cam. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the cam is formed integrally with a manually engageable precision adjustment knob, which includes a notch or the like so that the operator may gauge the position of the marker relative to the mounting leg.
