摘要: A rugged information and communication system closure for outdoor installation and a method for assembling the same are provided. The closure includes an outer housing, a circuit device, a splice tray, a cable stub, and an epoxy filler. The outer housing includes a plurality of mounts configured to support the circuit device and the splice tray. The circuit device is mounted in the outer housing and includes internal circuitry, a first plurality of fibers connected to the internal circuitry, and a housing enclosing the internal circuitry. The splice tray is mounted over the circuit device and supports the first plurality of fibers. The cable stub extends through the outer housing and includes a second plurality of fibers spliced to the first plurality of fibers to form a splice. The splice is positioned on the splice tray. The epoxy filler occupies any remaining space of the outer housing to protect the circuit device and fibers from outside plant conditions.

摘要: An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus includes a display; an illumination sensor; and a processor. The processor is configured to carry out a predetermined operation based on the illumination value being greater than or equal to a threshold, falling below the threshold for a predetermined time and thereafter being greater than or equal to the threshold. The processor is further configured to turn on the display based on the illumination value being greater than or equal to the threshold, falling below the threshold for the predetermined time and thereafter being greater than or equal to the threshold; or the illumination value being less than or equal to a second threshold, rising above the second threshold for the predetermined time, and thereafter being less than or equal to the second threshold, the second threshold being less than the threshold.

摘要: A system and method for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of installing and pulling microducts through subterranean pathways is provided. The system includes a device that is placed over at least one microduct and secured through tapered screws that enter through the end cap of the body of the device and into at least one microduct. The tapered screw both expands the microduct, pressing it against the inner wall of the body and guide rod, as well as securing the microduct to the cap end of the body. Securing the microducts against seal provides further protection from water, debris, and other contaminants, and the expansion of the microducts provides friction and adherence to the body, aiding in keeping microducts in place. The device further includes a pulling apparatus connected to the device body, allowing it to be connected to a pulling mechanism for installation of the microducts.

摘要: A system that uses a scalable array of individually controllable laser beams that are generated by a fiber array system to process materials into an object. The adaptive control of individual beams may include beam power, focal spot width, centroid position, scanning orientation, amplitude and frequency, piston phase and polarization states of individual beams. Laser beam arrays may be arranged in a two dimensional cluster and configured to provide a pre-defined spatiotemporal laser power density distribution, or may be arranged linearly and configured to provide oscillating focal spots along a wide processing line. These systems may also have a set of material sensors that gather information on a material and environment immediately before, during, and immediately after processing, or a set of thermal management modules that pre-heat and post-heat material to control thermal gradient, or both.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a fiber optic cable and connector assembly including a fiber optic cable and a ferrule-less fiber optic connector. The ferrule-less fiber optic connector includes a main connector body including a distal end and a proximal end. The fiber optic connector also includes a fiber fixation component that mounts within the main connector body and that axially fixes a portion of an optical fiber of the fiber optic cable within the main connector body. The optical fiber includes a bare fiber portion that extends distally beyond the fiber fixation component and includes a free-end portion located at the distal end of the main connector body. The free-end portion is not supported by a ferrule. The optical fiber is anchored relative to the fiber fixation component before the fiber fixation component is mounted within the main connector body.
