Abstract:
THE INVENTION RELATES TO A MOTORIZED PUMP AND BLOWER ASSEMBLY FOR OIL BURNERS. THE MOTOR ROTOR IS DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS WITH ONE ROTOR PART FOR DRIVING THE PUMP BEING INTERNALLY OF THE STATOR AND THE OTHER ROTOR PART FOR DRIVING THE
BLOWER BEING EXTERNALLY OF THE STATOR. THE ASSEMBLY HOUSING IS PROVIDED WITH BEARING AND JOURNAL MEANS ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE STATOR FOR ROTATABLY SUPPORTING THE TWO ROTOR PARTS.
Abstract:
A ROTARY SEAL COMPRISES A SHAFT ROTATABLY MOUNTED IN A HOLLOW HOUSING WHICH HAS A RECESSED PORTION. WITHIN THIS RECESS THERE IS A RING-SHAPED SEAT PORTION DISPOSED COAXIALLY WITH THE SHAFT. A STATIONARY BEARING SEAT MEMBER COMPRISING A SINTERED CARBON RING HAVING A FLAT BEARING SURFACE IS PRESSED AGAINST THE RING-SHAPED SEAT BY SPRING MEANS. THE SURFACE OF THE CARBON RING OPPOSITE THE FLAT BEARING SURFACE IS PREFERABLY IMPREGNATED WITH A MATERIAL SUCH AS A METAL TO AVOID POROSITY. HOWEVER THE IMPREGNATING MATERIAL DOES NOT REACH THE FLAT BEARING SURFACE. A ROTATABLE METAL SEALING RING MEMBER IS
PRESSED AGAINST THE SINTERED CARBON RING THUS PRODUCING A SEAL BETWEEN THESE MEMBERS.
Abstract:
A snap action switch system actuating a movable switch contact into alternative contact with two fixed electrical switch contacts by two longitudinally rigid toggle levers pivotal relative to each other about a pivot actuated to two positions opposite a given plane through which the levers pass. The system has a longitudinally flexible arm so that as the rigid toggle levers pass the given plane the flexible arm is flexed longitudinally and the movable contact transported by the system effects a wiping and release action relative to one of the fixed contacts with which it is in contact before effecting a snap action switching action under control of a spring lever biased for actuating the toggle levers to one of the two positions on opposite sides of the given plane. An operator is provided for overcoming the spring lever and moving the toggle levers across said plane to another position on a side opposite to the plane thereby actuating the movable contact into contact with the other of the fixed contacts than that to it contacts under control of the spring lever.
Abstract:
A DC supply system which is suitable as a DC voltage source for a DC to AC inverter. Two stage regulator means are provided for intermittently actuating a semiconductor switch. The first stage is at constant frequency with the switch being made conductive at the beginning of periods and nonconductive at varying points in the periods to providing conducting intervals of varying length between minimum and maximum lengths. The second stage is at variable frequency with the switch being made conductive for time intervals of constant length. The system is operable to maintain a predetermined voltage subject to the prevention of the load current exceeding a maximum predetermined value.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a gear pump of the type having internally and externally toothed, eccentrically disposed members which rotate about their respective axes. The gear pump incorporates a centering device for centering housing elements of the pump during the assembly operations which comprises bores of different diameters in adjacent housing parts and a ball which is press fitted in the bore of larger diameter and has contact with the circular edge of the bore of lesser diameter.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hydrostatic control unit for vehicle steering systems or the like. The unit has a gerotor-type metering motor, inlet and outlet ports and two motor ports which are connectable to a piston and cylinder-type motor of the kind used for actuating a vehicle steering linkage. The unit has changeover valve means having a neutral position and left and right operating positions relates to the two directions of rotation of the metering motor. The metering motor comprises ring and star members with the ring member being capable of only rotational movement and the star member being capable of only orbital movement. Commutator-type valve means is provided which has the form of a disc and is connected to the ring member for rotation therewith.
Abstract:
A GENERATOR CONTROLS A THREE PHASE CONVERTER HAVING SIX CONTROLLABLE RECTIFIERS AND A COMMON QUENCHING CONTROLLABLE RECTIFIER. A FREQUENCY EMITTER IS CONTROLLED BY AN INPUT VOLTAGE AND EMITS A CONTROLLED FREQUENCY WHICH IS SIX TIMES THE THREE PHASE FREQUENCY. THE FREQUENCY EMITTER CONTROLS THE COMMON QUENCHING RECTIFIER AND ALSO CONTROLS A THREE STAGE ANNULAR COUNTER. THE THREE OUTPUTS OF THE ANNULAR COUNTER CONTROL THREE BISTABLE MULTIVIBRATOR FREQUENCY DIVIDERS, EACH HAVING TWO OUTPUTS. THE OUTPUT OF EACH FREQUENCY DIVIDER IS CONNECTED TO A GATE CIRCUIT WHICH IN TURN CONTROL ONE OF THE SIX CONTROLLABLE RECTIFIERS. A CORRECTION CIRCUIT INTERCONNECTS THE THREE MULTIVIBRATORS TO INSURE THE PROPER SEQUENCY OF FIRING OF THE SIX CONTROLLABLE RECTIFIERS.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an overheating control device for an alternating current motor. The device comprises a symmetrical controlled semiconductor valve in the motor lead and PTC resistor means thermally coupled to the motor windings. The PTC resistor means is connected to the control electrode of the semiconductor valve and concomitant with a temperature rise in the motor windings, the current flowing through the PTC resistor means decreases to effect a closing of the semiconductor valve.
Abstract:
The invention relates to control apparatus for limiting the level of the liquid in a container to a predetermined level. A thermostatic element combined with a heating element comprises an assembly which senses and is subjected to a relatively lower temperature when surrounded by a liquid in the container than it does when the liquid level is lower than the level of the assembly. The mode of operation is based on the thermostatic element operating an electrical switch, through pressure responsive means, which controls the supply of liquid to the container. The switch has on and off positions which correspond to the upper and lower temperatures to which the thermostatic element is subject. The absolute values of the upper and lower temperatures to which the thermostatic valve may be subjected may vary substantially depending on the temperature of the liquid and the ambient temperature but the temperature differential between the absolute temperatures is substantially constant. The invention involves the providing of pressure compensating means so that it is only the temperature differential between the upper and lower temperatures to which the thermostatic element is subjected that causes the switch to be actuated to its on or off position.
Abstract:
THE INVENTION RELATES TO A HYDROSTATIC CONTROL UNIT OF THE GENERAL TYPE USED FOR VEHICLE STEERING SYSTEMS. A GEROTOR GEAR SET IS USED FOR THE METERING UNIT AND A PAIR OF PLATE TYPE VALVES ARE COOPERABLE WITH THE GEROTOR UNIT. A DRIVE ASSEMBLY IS PROVIDED BETWEEN THE GEROTOR UNIT
AND THE VALVES WHICH FUNCTIONS AS A DRIVE BETWEEN THE GEROTOR AND ONE OF THE VALVES AND AS A MEANS FOR PROVIDING LIMITED RELATIVE ROTATIONAL MOVEMENT BETWEEN THE VALVES FOR CONTROL PURPOSES.
