Abstract: Methods and systems for building and maintaining model(s) of a physical process are disclosed. One method includes receiving training data associated with a plurality of different data sources, and performing a clustering process to form one or more clusters. For each of the one or more clusters, the method includes building a data model based on the training data associated with the data sources in the cluster, automatically performing a data cleansing process on operational data based on the data model, and automatically updating the data model based on updated training data that is received as operational data. For data sources excluded from the clusters, automatic building, data cleansing, and updating of models can also be applied.

Abstract: Embodiments of determining a vertically transverse isotropy (VTI) anisotropy along a horizontal section of a wellbore drilled into a formation are provided. One embodiment comprises determining elastic constants C11, C44, and C66 of the horizontal section and determining a vertical compressional slowness of the horizontal section corresponding to an elastic constant C33 of the horizontal section using a model with a condition. The model is built using second sonic log data and second density log data of the vertical wellbore. The condition is that the shear slowness (DTS) of the vertical wellbore is equal to the vertically polarized shear slowness (DTSV) of the horizontal section. The embodiment further comprises determining a VTI anisotropy along the horizontal section using the elastic constants C11, C44, C66, and C33 of the horizontal section.

Abstract: A method for evaluating and optimizing scale management at a subsurface for improved well performance may include performing multiple first tests, where each first test combines a first fluid with a second fluid, wherein the first fluid comprises a concentration of a scale inhibitor and a chemistry of additional fluid components. The method may also include identifying an optimal mixture of the first fluid among the first tests, where the optimal mixture comprises a minimum concentration of the scale inhibitor that reduces scale deposition. The method may further include performing a second test that combines the first fluid with the scale inhibitor, the second fluid, and rock. The method may also include evaluating a concentration of the scale inhibitor in aqueous phase after a period of time after initiating the second test. The method may further include identifying a target fluid for use in a field operation at the subsurface.
