摘要: Apparatus, methods, and systems for determining body wave slowness values for a target formation zone. A method includes selecting a target axial resolution based on the size of a receiver array, obtaining a plurality of waveform data sets corresponding to a target formation zone and each acquired at a different shot position, reconstructing the plurality of waveform data sets to generate a plurality of subarray data sets corresponding to the target formation zone, determining a slowness value for each subarray data set and determining a slowness versus offset value for each subarray data set. The method may also include generating a borehole model having at least one alteration formation zone and a virgin formation zone and generating a slowness versus offset model based at least in part on the borehole model. The method may also include determining a radial depth of the alteration formation zone.

摘要: Techniques for estimating and visually presenting formation slowness are disclosed herein. The techniques include receiving acoustic signal responses from adjacent formations at a plurality of depths in a borehole environment, mapping a distribution of the acoustic signal responses at each depth according to slowness and a frequency values, determining at least one confidence interval to define a coherence threshold for the distribution of the acoustic signal responses at each depth, generating a variable density log for each depth based on the distribution of acoustic signals responses that satisfy the confidence interval for one or more frequency ranges, determining a formation slowness value for each depth based on the variable density log for the each depth, and presenting a semblance map that includes a slowness axis, a depth axis, the formation slowness value for each depth, and at least a portion of the distribution of acoustic signal responses at each depth.

摘要: Effects of time variability of water velocities in seismic surveys are addressed. Traveltime discontinuities in the input seismic data which are associated with the time-variable water velocities are determined. The input seismic data is transformed from a data space that contains the traveltime discontinuities into a model space which does not contain the traveltime discontinuities. Then the transformed seismic data is reverse transformed from the model space back into the data space.

The method further includes obtaining one or more second HTI angles resulting from a frequency domain HTI algorithm. The method further includes generating a first HTI anisotropy log including a relative angle log based on the first and second HTI angles. The method further includes generating a first color map of the first HTI anisotropy log and displaying the first color map.

摘要: A method for making acoustic logging measurements includes grouping received acoustic waveforms into one of a plurality of groups, each group being representative of a measured borehole condition (e.g., a range of measured standoff values and/or a range of measured azimuth angles). The waveforms stored in at least one of the groups are stacked so as to obtain an averaged waveform. The averaged waveform may be further processed, for example, via a semblance algorithm to obtain at least one acoustic wave slowness.

The method may further include determining various slowness gradients for the slowness model based on the geophysical data, the pressure wavefields, the seismic data, and a geophysical constraint. The geophysical constraint may correspond to an objective function that determines a misfit between the geophysical data and the slowness model. The method may further includes updating the slowness model using the slowness gradients to produce an updated slowness model. The method may further include generating, based on the updated slowness model and the reflectivity model, a subsurface image of the geological region of interest.
