摘要: Described are photocurable liquid adhesives, kits for preparing photocurable liquid adhesives, and methods for their preparation and use. Kits can include first and second components that can be mixed to prepare a photocurable liquid adhesive. The first component can include a liquid preparation including an aqueous liquid, one or more polymers containing phenolic groups, and a photoactivatable metal ligand complex. The second component can include an electron acceptor. Mixing the first component and the second component can create a photocurable liquid adhesive. The first and second components can be packaged in containers such as syringes, and the kits can include the containers and a cannulated coupler for fluidly coupling the containers to mix the container contents to prepare the photocurable liquid adhesive. A syringe dispensing tip and/or a light source for curing the photocurable liquid adhesive can also be included in the kits. Advantageous photocurable liquid adhesives are described that, absent curing, remain in flowable liquid form during typical temperatures of storage and use. The adhesives can include in or as a phenolic group-containing polymer component one or more of collagen, phenol enriched collagen, gelatin, phenol enriched gelatin, a collagen peptide composition, or a phenol enriched collagen peptide composition.

摘要: A polymeric material fiber includes a polymeric material which is a homopolymer of caprolactone or a copolymer of at least 90% by weight of caprolactone and one or more additional monomers. An implantable mesh includes this fiber alone or combined with one or more additional fiber materials. Methods for treating patients involve implanting the fiber material, for example incorporated in a mesh.

摘要: Described are embodiments of a multilaminate or multiple layer implantable surgical graft with an illustrative graft comprising a remodelable collagenous sheet material, the graft including one or more interweaving members to stitch together the graft to help prevent the layers from delaminating or separating during handling and the initial stages of remodeling. The interweaving members may comprise lines of suture, thread, individual stitches, strips of material, etc. that are woven through the layers of biomaterial in a desired pattern. In one embodiment, the interweaving members comprise a pharmacologically active substance, such as a drug, growth factors, etc. to elicit a desired biological response in the host tissue. In another embodiment, the graft further comprises a reinforcing material, such as a synthetic mesh, within the layers of remodelable biomaterial and stitched together by one or more interweaving members.

摘要: Various compositions of matter, methods of making compositions of matter, and methods of using compositions of matter, e.g. for inducing hemostasis, are disclosed. In some embodiments, a starting fibrin material is subjected to controlled hydrolysis, desirably base-catalyzed, to prepare a fibrin hydrolysate material with increased water sorption capacity. Such fibrin hydrolysate materials, alone or combined with one or more additional substances, can be used in the preparation of hemostasis promoting foams, powders or gels. In some embodiments, a starting dialdehyde starch material is subjected to controlled hydrolysis to prepare a dialdehyde starch hydrolysate material. Such dialdehyde starch hydrolysate materials, alone or combined with one or more additional substances, in some cases combined with a fibrin hydrolysate material, can be used in the preparation of hemostasis promoting foams, powders or gels.

摘要: Disclosed are powder spray dispensing devices for comminuted extracellular matrix powder materials, and terminally sterilized products for providing such devices, as well as related methods for manufacture and use. A powder spray dispensing device can include a squeeze pump bottle having a bottle body defining a bottle opening and an interior chamber. A dry collagenous extracellular matrix material powder is received in the interior chamber of the squeeze pump bottle, and a cap is fitted over the bottle opening. The cap has a dispensing spout fluidly communicating with the bottle opening and having a spout lumen, desirably of decreasing diameter in a direction extending away from the bottle opening. Amounts of the dry, comminuted collagenous extracellular matrix material powder are ejectable as a powder spray out of the spout opening by a pumping inward deflection of at least one wall portion of the squeeze pump bottle that causes a gas pressure impulse to travel from the interior chamber of the squeeze pump bottle through the spout lumen and out the spout opening.

摘要: Described are packaged, sterile medical graft products containing controlled levels of a growth factor such as Fibroblast Growth Factor-2 (FGF-2). Also described are methods of manufacturing medical graft products wherein processing, including sterilization, is controlled and monitored to provide medical graft products having modulated, known levels of a extracellular matrix factor, such as a growth factor, e.g. FGF-2. Preferred graft materials are extracellular matrix materials isolated from human or animal donors, particularly submucosa-containing extracellular matrix materials. Further described are ECM compositions that are or are useful for preparing gels, and related methods for preparation and use.

摘要: Described are methods, cell growth substrates, and devices that are useful in preparing cell-containing graft materials for administration to patients. Tubular passages can be defined in cell growth substrates to promote distribution of cells into the substrates. Also described are methods and devices for preparing cell-seeded graft compositions, methods and devices for preconditioning cell growth substrates prior to application of cells, and cell seeded grafts having novel substrates, and uses thereof.
