A signal processing apparatus includes an input attribute determination section for determining an input attribute representing at least one of a type of an audio codec, a sampling frequency and a number of channels of an input signal; and an input signal processing section for processing the input signal. The input signal processing section determines whether the input attribute has been changed based on a determination result provided by the input attribute determination section; and when a calculation remainder generated in the input signal processing section by the change in the input attribute, the input signal processing section assigns at least apart of the calculation remainder to processing of the input signal.

A probe needle 20 includes a cantilever 21, a column 22 and a tip 23. The column 22 is cantilevered from an end of the cantilever 21. The tip 23 is formed on a top end of the column 22. The column 22 is formed so as to be longer than the tip 23. The heights of the column 22 and tip 23 are chosen so that their sum is twice or more than twice the width of the columnar 22.

A method for obtaining information on a mass of an object by time-of-flight mass spectrometry. This method includes placing colloidal metal particles for promoting ionization of the object inside the object at a depth ranging from 0.1 nm to 100 nm in opposition to a primary beam for the ionization; irradiating the object with the primary beam selected from the group of ions, neutral particles, and electrons, which can be focused, pulsed, and are capable of scanning, and laser beams, which can be focused, pulsed, and are capable of scanning to ionize a constituent of the object and to allow the ionized constituent to fly out of the object; and obtaining information on the mass of the flying constituent of the object by time-of-flight mass spectrometry.

In a content reproduction system, a first reproducer receives content information sent from a content server to the first reproducer via a network by unicast communication and reproduces first content information included in the received content information. A second reproducer captures the content information transmitted on the network from the content server in a promiscuous mode, acquires control information required for reproduction of second content information, which is included in the captured content information and is to be reproduced with the first content information at a synchronized timing, from the content server via the network, and reproduces the second content information based on the acquired control information. This arrangement enables synchronization of the reproduction timing of the first content information with the reproduction timing of the second content information without multicast communication.

An amplifier includes a first reception section which receives multimedia data via the Internet, a first separation section which separates sound data from the multimedia data, a synchronization data generation section which generates synchronization data based on the sound data, and a synchronization data transmission section which transmits the synchronization data to a set-top box via an infrared communication channel; and the set-top box includes a second reception section which receives the multimedia data via the Internet, a second separation section which separates image data from the multimedia data, a synchronization data reception section which receives the synchronization data via the infrared communication channel, and a matching section which determines reproduction target image data based on the synchronization data.

A method for manufacturing a probe needle having beams and a contactor placed on tips of the beams comprises preparing a Si wafer 20, forming a seed layer 21 on the Si wafer 20, and forming grooves in a desired shape of the beams on the seed layer 21 by patterning a photoresist 23. Subsequently, the grooves are filled up with metal-plated layers 24a, 24b to form the desired shape of beams.

When compression molding is performed continuously, lumps of molten synthetic resin (drops), which are supplied by extrusion, are continuously, accurately, and rapidly inserted into plurality of compression molding dies which are rotatingly movable. A method and device for continuously supplying drops into female moldings which are rotatingly movable for manufacturing moldings, wherein synthetic resin in molten condition extruded from an extrusion opening is cut by a cutter attached to a holding mechanism to form the molten resin into drops in a determined quantity, the drops are held and conveyed by the holding mechanism, and the drops are forcibly inserted and supplied into the concaves of the female moldings. At that time the holding mechanism on the rotary-and movable type drop supply is made to approach the rotating molding die and the rotation path of the holding mechanism is made to overlap with that of the molding die within a determined area to make the movement of the holding mechanisms follow that of the molding die.
