Abstract:
An intermediate service provider operates to mediate communications between mobile terminals and various service providers. In one embodiment, the intermediate service provider and a given mobile terminal establish a persistent session supported by a logical communication channel that is used to convey communications for all of the various service applications implemented by the mobile terminal, i.e., a single, multiplexed channel. In another embodiment, common command subsystems are used to support the multiple service applications, thereby reducing overhead resulting from multiple protocol headers. In yet another embodiment, establishment of communications with various service providers begins with a single connection request message that specifies at least two selected service applications such that the intermediate service provider can establish communications with the multiple service providers in response to the single connection request message.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing adaptive lane centering in an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle driving system includes activating a lane centering control system, detecting a driver steering override of the lane centering control system, monitoring a lane centering offset when a driver override condition is detected, determining if the lane centering offset represents a driver bias and adjusting the lane centering offset in the lane centering control system to compensate for the driver bias.
Abstract:
A system and method for automatically correcting the viewing angle of a rear-view mirror on a vehicle towing a trailer when the vehicle is traveling around a curve. If the dimensions of the trailer are unknown, then the corrected viewing angle is the same as the hitch angle between the vehicle and the trailer. If the dimensions of the trailer are known, then trigonometry is used to determine the corrected viewing angle. Depending on whether the road is curving to the right or to the left will determine whether the left side rear-view mirror or the right side rear-view mirror is adjusted.
Abstract:
A system and method for automatically correcting the viewing angle of a rear-view mirror on a vehicle when the vehicle is traveling around a curve. The system estimates the curvature of the road using only vehicle speed and vehicle steering angle information. The road curvature estimation is used to determine the radius of curvature of the road, which can then be used to determine the corrected viewing angle of the rear-view mirror. Depending on whether the road is curving to the right or to the left will determine whether the left side rear-view mirror or the right side rear-view mirror will be adjusted.
Abstract:
A character and function key input device comprises: a character button unit having character buttons, each of which is assigned to one or more characters of one or more languages or function key elements; a forward button which converts the character or function key element selected from among the characters or the function key elements into characters or function key elements assigned to the selected button or adjacent button in accordance with the dictionary order; and a backward button which converts the character or function key element selected from among the characters or the function key elements into characters or function key elements assigned to the selected button or adjacent button in accordance with the dictionary order, wherein said one or more characters or function key elements assigned to the character buttons are disposed adjacently to one other in the dictionary order, and the character or the function key element having the highest use frequency is used as a basic value. The dictionary order has a circulation configuration such that the first character or the first function key element appears again after the last character or the last function key element.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for measuring a biomaterial, comprising: a first substrate having a recess in one side thereof; a second substrate having reference and operating electrodes where a biochemical reaction of a biomaterial occurs, and first and second delivery electrodes delivering electric signals from the reaction to a detector; and reaction reagents fixed at the second substrate causing the reaction with the biomaterial, wherein the first or the second substrate has a tilted surface toward a sample-inlet in a height direction. The second substrate is attached to the first substrate such that a portion of the recess forms the sample-inlet, and the reference and operating electrodes are directed toward the recess. The tilted surface prevents the sample-inlet from being blocked by a finger of the user when introducing the biomaterial through the sample-inlet in the event the used substrate has three-dimensional structures with substantial thickness.
Abstract:
According to some embodiments of the invention, transistors have channel regions between channel-portion holes. Methods of forming the same include at least two channel-portion holes disposed in a semiconductor substrate. Line patterns are formed in parallel to be spaced apart from each other on a main surface of the semiconductor substrate to fill the channel-portion holes. A channel region is disposed in the semiconductor substrate below the line patterns. At this time, the channel region is formed between the channel-portion holes and also covers lower portions of the channel-portion holes. Driving current capability and refresh characteristics of DRAMs utilizing the inventive transistors are improved.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an internal antenna that provides impedance matching for multiple bands. The antenna includes an impedance matching part, which in turn includes a first conductive element electrically coupled to a feeding point and a second conductive element electrically coupled to a ground, and at least one radiator electrically coupled to the first conductive element, where the first conductive element and the second conductive element of the impedance matching part are separated by a particular distance to perform coupling matching and are electrically coupled at a pre-designated position. Certain aspects of the present invention can be utilized to provide wide band characteristics in designing for multi-band applications, even for high-frequency bands.

Example embodiments relate to a method of manufacturing a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) display device including dichroic dye. The method may include filling a mixture solution including liquid crystals, a photopolymerizable material, dichroic dyes, and liquid crystalline polymers in a space between a first electrode and a second electrode that face each other; applying an electric field between the first electrode and the second electrode; and arranging the dichroic dyes in the mixture solution.
Abstract:
A recessed channel transistor includes an isolation layer provided in a semiconductor substrate to define an active region. A trench is provided in the semiconductor substrate to extend across the active region. A gate insulation layer covers a sidewall and a bottom face of the trench and an upper face of the semiconductor substrate adjacent to an upper edge of the trench, wherein a portion of the gate insulation layer on the upper surface of the semiconductor substrate adjacent to the upper edge of the trench and on the sidewall of the trench extending to a first distance downwardly from the upper edge of the trench has a thickness greater than that of a portion of the gate insulation layer on the remaining sidewall and the bottom face of the trench. A gate electrode fills up the trench having the gate insulation layer formed therein.
