    摘要: A keyboard is provided having 26 letters assigned to only 16 to 21 keys, and preferably 21 keys. This advantageous system of typing makes use of either one or two hands. The 26 letters of the English alphabet are all displayed. Five keys have two letters—those letters are PQ, JK, UW, VX and YZ for a total of ten letters. Sixteen keys have one letter assigned to each key—namely the letters A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, L, M, O, N, R, S and T for a total of sixteen letters assigned to a specific key—for a total of 26 letters.

The Bicameral Keyboard is compatible with pictographic expression and pedagogy and will permit direct access to word processors, translation machines, page editors, and printers at input rates more rapid than possible using the alphanumeric keyboard with western orthographic characters.

    摘要: Typically twelve keys are arranged for one-hand touch typing in alphanumeric data processors permit a single finger to choose either single keys or multiplicities of side-by-side keys to give enough selection for alpha processing and to arrange keys conveniently about the fingers for touch typing. Tactile feedback structural patterns including indentations and raised surface portions identify single keys and intersections of two and three keys where the finger strokes occur. By providing three key intersections a larger number of different selections of input data characters or control functions may be entered with fewer keyboard keys.

    摘要: More computer commands in multi-purpose programmable electronic computers are made with fewer keys in keyboard assemblies having therewith integrally located instruction indicia showing a key stroke sequence for selection of a large range of instruction commands. In achieving this the computer operates in at least two modes with one mode requiring two key strokes in mutually exclusive time sequence for each command entry. In a preferred embodiment, a single stroke mode is used for numerical entries and a third mode provides for facilitated alphanumeric entries for writing programs in a simplified form. The keys, strokes, and command instructions are cooperatively integrated by means of coded indicia which permits condensed display of a large range of the computer instructions available from a few keys so that reference to manual instructions is not necessary.

    摘要: The number of keys on a keyboard are reduced by employing the decimal point key as a control key when stroked the second time in the entry of a decimal number word. This eliminates the need for a key standard in the computer arts which is either designated as an "enter" key or as an "=" key depending upon the computer arithmetic process. It thereby becomes possible to use only twelve keys on a keyboard to control a modern computer with the order of 133 built-in programs or execution commands. This is done by providing in addition to ten decimal keys 0 to 9 and the decimal point key one additional control or execute key which initiates a two or more sequential key program step select mode in which any of the twelve keys are then stroked to designate a particular execution command. An accompanying graphic display of the various execution choices available makes the keyboard usable without necessity of frequent consultation of an instruction manual.
