A recording material is disclosed, comprising a colorless or pale solution containing an electrolyte, a water-soluble organic solvent and water, and an ink containing a pigment, an anionic compound, a water-soluble organic solvent and water, wherein the number of particles of 0.5 &mgr;m or more present in 1 L of the recording material is 1×1011 or more, and the number of particles of 5 &mgr;m or more is 1×109 or more. Also disclosed is an image forming method using the recording material.

A cathode ray tube has a panel portion 1 with a phosphor layer 5 formed on its inner face, a neck portion 2 accommodating an electron gun 9, a funnel portion 2 for coupling the panel portion 1 to the neck portion 2 and a color selective electrode assembly 6 having a number of electron beam passing openings arranged opposite to the phosphor layer 5 with a space therebetween. The color selective electrode assembly is installed within the panel portion 1. An electron beam reflection film of a bismuth oxide thin film 6R having a bulk density of from 4 to 9.3 g/cm.sup.3 is formed on the face of the color selective electrode assembly 6 against which the electron beams 14 emitted from the electron gun 9 collide. A liquid developer for electrophotography is disclosed, which comprises a carrier, a charge director contained in the carrier, and toner particles dispersed in the carrier and having a volume-average particle diameter of from 0.5 .mu.m to 5 .mu.m, wherein the toner particles comprises a thermoplastic resin substantially insoluble in the carrier at a temperature used for development, a colorant dispersed in the resin, and a charge control agent. A process for producing the liquid developer, and a process for forming an image are also disclosed. Thereby, a liquid developer for electrophotography having good toner electrification characteristics and satisfactory charge stability is obtained.

An ink for ink jet recording contains a dye and water, a water soluble organic solvent which dissolves the dye, and 0.8 to 5 weight percent of propylene oxide/ethylene oxide block copolymer which has an average molecular weight from 1000 to 5000 and whose content of ethylene oxide group is in the range from 5 to 60 weight percent based on the average molecular weight of the block copolymer. The ink has a surface tension of 30-40 dyne/cm and a viscosity of 1-10 centipoise. An ink jet ink of this invention can be a combination of three colors, e.g., cyan, magenta and yellow, or four colors (adding black to these colors).

A heat-sensitive recording material is disclosed, comprising a support having provided thereon a hot-melt heat-sensitive ink material layer, wherein said heat-sensitive ink material comprises an amorphous polymer and a coloring material as main components and a releasing agent as an optional but rather preferred component, said amorphous polymer being present in an amount of at least 50% by weight based on solid components of the heat-sensitive ink material. The recording material is excellent in color reproducibility, resolving power, recording sensitivity, transfer properties and fixing properties.
