    Abstract: The present invention relates to SHIP inhibitor compounds and methods for using these compounds. In particular, the present invention discloses the following methods: (i) a method of treating graft versus host disease in a subject; (ii) a method of inhibiting a SHIP1 protein in a cell; (iii) a method of selectively inhibiting a SHIP1 protein in a cell; (iv) a method for treating or preventing graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in a recipient of an organ or tissue transplant; (v) a method of modulating SHIP activity in a cell expressing SHIP1 or SHIP2; (vi) a method of ex vivo or in vitro treatment of transplants; (vii) a method of inhibiting tumor growth and metastasis in a subject; (viii) a method of treating a hematologic malignancy in a subject; (ix) a method of inducing apoptosis of multiple myeloma cells; (x) a method of treating multiple myeloma in a subject; (xi) a method of inhibiting the proliferation of a human breast cancer cell; and (xii) a method of treating breast cancer in a subject.

    Abstract: A processing unit and a method of operating a processing unit. In an embodiment, the processing unit comprises a SIMON block cipher for transforming plaintext data into encrypted data. A key expansion module generates and outputs one or more encryption keys; and the key expansion module includes a first series of adiabatic registers for holding key generation data values, and for using adiabatic switching to transmit the key generation data values through the first series of adiabatic registers. A round function module receives the plaintext data and the one or more encryption keys, encrypts the plaintext data to generate the encrypted data, and outputs the encrypted data; and the round function module includes a second series of adiabatic registers for holding encryption data, and for using adiabatic switching to transmit the encryption data through the second series of adiabatic registers.

    Abstract: An apparatus method for driving light emitting diodes (LEDs), comprising: receiving an alternating current input; producing a DC current having a voltage with an AC-DC boost power-factor correction stage, having a variable-frequency operation, and a set of switches controlled in dependence on the voltage to limit a peak LED current; and producing an LED drive current with a DC-DC power conversion stage having a set of switches to selectively pulse-width modulate the LEDs to control a brightness, wherein the set of switches in the AC-DC boost power-factor correction stage and the set of switches in the DC-DC power conversion stage are each controlled to switch at zero current.

    Abstract: A method for controlling a data center, comprising a plurality of server systems, each associated with a cooling system and a thermal constraint, comprising: a concurrent physical condition of a first server system; predicting a future physical condition based on a set of future states of the first server system; dynamically controlling the cooling system in response to at least the input and the predicted future physical condition, to selectively cool the first server system sufficient to meet the predetermined thermal constraint; and controlling an allocation of tasks between the plurality of server systems to selectively load the first server system within the predetermined thermal constraint and selectively idle a second server system, wherein the idle second server system can be recruited to accept tasks when allocated to it, and wherein the cooling system associated with the idle second server system is selectively operated in a low power consumption state.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for the simultaneous qualitative and quantitative analysis of a plurality of biomarkers contained in a sample, including: capturing one or more biomarkers on a substrate configured to bind a plurality of biomarkers to a plurality of binding sites, wherein binding sites bind at least two biomarkers, and wherein when one or more biomarkers are present forming one or more bound biomarkers-of-interest; contacting the one or more bound biomarkers-of-interest with one or more fluorescent binding partners to form one or more fluorescent complexes; contacting the substrate with a source of collimated, polarized light, wherein the source of collimated polarized light emits light at a predetermined wavelength for transferring energy to surface plasmons and excite fluorescence of the one or more fluorescent complexes; and detecting emission light of fluorescent complexes; and determining the type and/or quantity of plurality of biomarkers.
