Abstract:
A method of controlling an unsynchronized cellular wireless telecommunication system includes, for at least one user equipment served by a first cell, receiving signal strength measurements and, based on the signal strength measurements, determining whether the user equipment should be scheduled for a low interference time period during which neighbouring cells are configured to minimize interference in the first cell. The method additionally includes receiving neighbouring cell time difference measurements from at least one mobile device within the first cell and, based on said measurements, determining a timing of transmissions from at least one neighbouring cell relative to a timing of transmissions from the first cell. Additionally, the method includes defining the low interference time period based on the determined timing of transmissions from the at least one neighbouring cell.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a user equipment for a telecommunications system, the telecommunications system comprising at least a first radio basestation. The user equipment comprises means for controlling a transmission power of the user equipment, such that said transmission power has a first value for a first set of one or more signals sent over a physical channel between the user equipment and the first radio basestation. The first value and said second value are different. In alternative embodiments, the second set of signals are transmitted taking into account information from the serving cell and a neighbouring cell, while the first set of signals are transmitted taking into account information from the serving cell only.
Abstract:
A user equipment performs downlink measurement on neighbour cells, but the measurement performance on a target cell (in terms of measurement period/sampling/accuracy etc) is dependent on the relative performance difference between the target cell and a reference cell. The reference cell may be the serving cell, or may be the strongest cell. The network is thus able to keep track of the required number of target cells without degrading the measurement performance of important cells. The UE on the other hand is still able to save its battery as much as possible while making full use of DRX.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method in a base station for transmitting cell information. The base station is comprised in a radio access network. The base station is adapted to communicate over a radio link with a user equipment located in a cell in the radio access network. The cell is served by the base station and is surrounded by neighbour cells. The method comprises the step of sending a message to the user equipment, using a point-to-point connection over the radio link. The message comprises neighbour cell information to assist the user equipment in handling mobility in idle mode
Abstract:
The invention relates to a transdermal therapeutic systems with fentanyl or an analogous fentanyl derivative as active ingredient. In order to prevent inadvertent overdosage by uncontrolled release of active ingredient as a result of damage, the active ingredient is contained in fluid-filled micro-reservoirs in the layer containing the active ingredient. The layer containing the active ingredient can optionally be provided with a membrane.
Abstract:
The number of measurements being performed in a telecommunications system can be reduced by performing a predetermined measurement in Cell A and in co-located Cell B, step 1, for example a received signal code power (RSCP) measurement. The difference between the two signals is determined, and stored for future reference, step 3. Once the difference value has been established, the mobile station no longer needs to perform measurements on both Cell A and Cell B. Instead, if a subsequent measurement is made on Cell A, step 5, the network can estimate the measurement for Cell B based on the difference signal previously determined, step 7.
Abstract:
In a mobile communication system (T1) a time interval selection means (TISM) in a network control means (RNC) determines a time interval and sends an indication about this time interval to a subscriber station (MS) in a time interval indication signal. A time interval signal determining means (TISDM) in the subscriber station (MS) detects the time interval and an IF measurement means (IFMM) carries out inter-frequency/inter-system measurements in the detected time interval specified by the network control means (RNC). In this time interval the temporary reduction of the quality of service QoS on the communication connection (CC) is planed by the network control means (RNC). However, independent as to whether a delay-sensitive or loss-sensitive data transmission is carried out, the network control means (RNC) can make provisions in order to compensate the temporary reduction of the quality of service. Such procedure is superior to performing IF measurements in an idle time interval of a compressed time slot in which a temporary degradation of the quality of service must always be accepted due to a compressed mode of operation.

Abstract:
The present invention provides event-based or driven reporting of mobile station measurements. A mobile station measures one or more radio-related parameters for one or more cells in a radio access network. The mobile station evaluates the measured radio-related parameter with respect to a predetermined condition or event and determines that the predetermined condition is satisfied or that the event has occurred. Based on that evaluation, the mobile radio sends a report to the radio access network. Accordingly, the occurrence of an event and/or the satisfaction of a condition triggers the sending of the report to the network. That way, the network receives the information so that it can take timely and appropriate action without sending outdated or redundant measurement reports that do not convey relevant or new information.
