摘要: Random access coverage is assured while at the same time supporting high uplink data rates in a same service area served by a base station. A set of radio resources are shared by multiple mobile terminals for transmitting uplink to the base station including requests for access to service from the base station and transmissions for active connections with the base station. A first repeating time period and a second different repeating time period are defined. Uplink transmission grants are scheduled for active connections that permit use of a greater amount of the radio resources during the first repeating time period. Uplink transmission grants are also scheduled for active connections that permit use of a smaller amount of those resources during the second repeating time period. At least some random access requests to the base station are controlled to occur only during the second repeating time period.

摘要: The invention relates to methods and arrangements for handling handover-related parameters. A radio base station of a mobile communications network is arranged to serve at least a first cell, and to make handover decisions based on handover-related parameters. The radio base station comprises means for receiving handover related feedback from a radio base station serving a second cell after handover of a UE from said first cell to said second cell; means for using the handover related feedback received from the base station serving said second cell to adjust the handover-related parameters; and further by means for sending handover related feedback to a radio base station serving a second or another cell after handover of a UE to said first cell from said second or another cell.

摘要: Control of uplink transmit power for a first mobile station operating with scheduled uplink data transmissions. A change in uplink scheduled status for the first mobile station is detected (301). Filtering of uplink interference measurements for the first mobile station is adapted (302) to account for the detected change in uplink scheduled status for the first mobile station. Alternatively a change in uplink scheduled status for a second mobile station is detected and a current filtering state for filtering of uplink interference measurements for the first mobile station is adjusted by applying an estimated expected change in interference associated with the detected change. A signal quality for uplink transmissions from the first mobile station is determined (303) based on measurements of received signal strength from the mobile station and the filtered uplink interference measurements. An uplink transmit power command is generated (304) for the first mobile station based on a comparison of the estimated signal quality to a signal quality target.

摘要: A received signal of interest is processed by determining timing of interference spikes in the received signal of interest. Receivers can determine when certain types of interference spikes are expected to occur, e.g., based on when different users are scheduled to transmit data during an overlapping portion of the same transmission time interval. The interference timing information is used by the receiver to soft scale signal values recovered from the received signal of interest that coincide with the interference spikes separately from remaining ones of the signal values. This way, fast changing interference power can be accurately tracked during periods of known interference spikes while also accurately tracking slower changing interference power during other periods.

摘要: The present invention relates to handover procedures in a cellular communications system (1). The cells (10-70) of the system (1) are divided into multiple handover-related classes based on their respective radio coverage characteristics. Each such cell class is then associated with a unique handover parameter or a unique set of parameters that are used in handover procedures involving the cells (10-70). The parameter values are adapted for the radio coverage characteristics of each cell class in order to generate a suitable handover region size of the cells (10-70). The handover parameters are used together with user equipment-assisted signal quality measurements for triggering the handover procedures.

摘要: A method in a base station for assisting a network management unit in managing a cellular network is provided. The base station determines a status of the cellular network. The status affects a measurement of a quality of a radio channel between the base station and a user equipment comprised in the cellular network. The measurement is to be performed by the user equipment. The base station receives a feedback report from the user equipment comprising the measurement. The base station evaluates a validity of the measurement based on the determined status. The base station sends a report to the network management unit. The report comprises an indication of the measurement and an indication of the validity, thereby assisting the network management unit in managing the cellular network.
