Receivers can determine when certain types of interference spikes are expected to occur, e.g., based on when different users are scheduled to transmit data during an overlapping portion of the same transmission time interval. This way, fast changing interference power can be accurately tracked during periods of known interference spikes while also accurately tracking slower changing interference power during other periods.

A request is being sent (303) to a user equipment (130), commanding it to send an identification requesting message to the neighboring base station (120). In response to reception of the sent identification requesting message, a neighboring base station identifier that is associated with and identifies the neighboring base station (120), is received (303). Thereby the base station (110) is enabled to identify the neighboring base station (120). By receipt of the neighboring base station identifier, the base station becomes aware of and is enabled to contact, or connect with, the neighboring base station more directly, without the need of doing it through the user equipment. The invention relates to a method for performance reporting in a wireless network, wherein at least one terminal is associated to a terminal report server by means of information in the terminal. Prior to initiating the performance report, information on operator identity is retrieved. The operator identity is combined with information identifying the associated terminal report server to compile a fully qualified domain name. Connectivity information to the terminal server report is requested and received from a domain name server, whereupon a performance report session to the terminal report server is initiated using the received connectivity information. For a further automated optimization state, determining a further forward triggering condition, and a further range of network element settings, allowable in a further network element setting optimization. An initial set of network element settings is assigned to an initial automated optimization state. The first forward triggering condition is evaluated and a migration to the first automated optimization state is performed upon fulfillment of the first forward triggering condition. A further forward triggering condition is evaluated and a migration to a further automated optimization state is performed upon the further forward triggering condition. The migrating is repeated until reaching a final automated optimization state.
