Abstract: Methods, computer readable media, and wireless apparatuses are disclosed for trigger frame recovery. An apparatus of a wireless device is disclosed. The apparatus comprising processing circuitry configured to: encode a trigger frame comprising a resource allocation for one or more stations, where the trigger frame comprises a network allocation vector (NAV) duration. The processing circuitry may be further configured to configure the wireless device to transmit the trigger frame to the one or more stations. The processing circuitry may be further configured to configure the wireless device to contend for the wireless medium a first time, encode a retransmission of the trigger frame, and configure the wireless device to transmit the retransmission of the trigger frame to the one or more stations, if a frame is not received from the one or more stations in response to the trigger frame before a trigger frame timeout duration.

Abstract: Embodiments of a low-power wake-up radio (LP-WUR) are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a wireless device is set to a first state or a second state, wherein in the first state the wireless device is configured to receive wake-up (WU) packets, and wherein in the second state the wireless device is configured to not receive WU packets, wherein the wireless device comprises a WLAN radio and a low-power wake-up radio (LP-WUR).In some embodiments, the wireless device is configured to receive a wake-up packet, turn on the WLAN radio and turn off the LP-WUR. In some embodiments, the wireless device is configured to turn off the WLAN radio and turn on the LP-WUR for power conservation. In some embodiments, the wireless device turns off the WLAN radio and turns off the LP-WUR, and can periodically turn on the LP-WUR radio for extreme power saving.

Abstract: Methods and devices are described for providing wireless stations (STAs) with two sets of enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) parameters. Legacy EDCA parameters that are for single user (SU) operations and may be used by both high-efficiency (HE) STAs and legacy STAs without multi-user (MU) capability. MU EDCA parameters are defined to be more restrictive than legacy EDCA parameters in favoring MU operations. Embodiments are described that define sets of rules for regulating how STAs capable of both SU and MU uplink operations can use the different sets of EDCA parameters.

Abstract: Embodiments of a station (STA), access point (AP) and method for aggregation of data packets are generally described herein. The AP may transmit a trigger frame (TF) to an STA that indicates an access class (AC) constraint parameter and a traffic identifier (TID) aggregation limit parameter. The STA may select a group of aggregate TIDs from which medium access control (MAC) protocol data units (MPDUs) may be aggregated into an aggregated MPDU (A-MPDU). The AC constraint parameter may indicate a recommended AC from which at least a portion of the aggregate TIDs are to be selected. The TID aggregation limit parameter may indicate a number of TIDs to be selected for the group of aggregate TIDs.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for pre-association frame exchange using random access are disclosed. An apparatus of a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) master station is disclosed. The apparatus includes transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry which may be configured to generate a trigger frame for uplink random access (TF-R), and transmit the TF-R. The transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry may be further configured to receive one or more responses in accordance with orthogonal frequency division multiple-access (OFDMA) to the trigger frame from one or more pre-association stations where the responses comprise pre-association identifiers corresponding to the one or more pre-association stations. Moreover, the transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry may be further configured to generate one or more acknowledgements to the one or more pre-association stations, and transmit the acknowledgements in accordance with OFDMA to the one or more pre-association stations.

Abstract: An apparatus, computer readable medium, and method for overlapping basic service set (OBSS) indication in a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW). An apparatus of a high-efficiency wireless local-area network device is disclosed. The apparatus including transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry configured to receive a frame and determine whether the frame is a frame transmitted from a basic service set (BSS) or a frame transmitted from an OBSS based on one or more media access control (MAC) addresses of the frame. The MAC address may include an indication of a BSS of the HE wireless device. If the HE wireless device is an access point, then a second part of the MAC address may be a predetermined pattern, the second part of the MAC address may be a formula applied to a first part of the MAC address, or an individual/group bit of the MAC address may be set.

The apparatuses including processing circuitry configured to: associate with a master station, decode a frame, where the frame comprises a first duration and a transmitter address and determine that the frame is an intra basic service set (Intra-BSS), an inter (Inter-BSS), or an unclassified frame, where the unclassified frame is the Intra-BSS frame or the Inter-BSS frame. The processing circuitry may be further configured to set an Intra-BSS network allocation vector (NAV) to the first duration if the first duration is longer than a current duration of the Intra-BSS NAV and the frame is determined to be the intra-BSS frame and set the second NAV to the first duration if the first duration is longer than a current duration of the second NAV and the frame is determined to be the inter-BSS frame or the unclassified frame.

Abstract: Wireless devices, methods, and computer-readable media for transmitting and receiving beacon frames are disclosed. A master station is disclosed. The master station may include circuitry configured to operate in accordance with orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) on a plurality of sub-channels and a primary channel. The circuitry may be further configured to assign a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) station to a sub-channel and transmit a legacy beacon on the primary channel with a first period. The circuitry may be further configured to transmit a HEW beacon on the sub-channel with a second period, wherein the second period is greater than the first period. The circuitry may be further configured to determine that the HEW station has data at the master station, and to transmit the HEW beacon on the sub-channel with an indication that the HEW station has the data. A HEW station is disclosed for receiving HEW beacons.

Abstract: Wireless devices, methods, and computer readable media for transmitting and receiving beacon frames are disclosed. A HEW device may include circuitry configured to: operate in accordance with OFDMA on a plurality of subchannels and a primary channel, and transmit a first beacon on the primary channel to one or more legacy devices. The circuitry may be further configured to transmit a second beacon on the plurality of subchannels to one or more HEW devices. The first beacon may be an 802.11 legacy beacon and the second beacon may be a HEW beacon. A HEW device may include circuitry configured to: tune to an assigned subchannel; and receive a HEW beacon on the assigned subchannel. The circuitry may be configured to: enter a power saving mode; leave the power saving mode; and receive another HEW beacon on the assigned subchannel to synchronize the HEW device with the AP.
