摘要: The invention relates to checkpointing memory. In one aspect, a processor directs a write request to a location within a first memory. The write request includes at least a data payload and an address identifying the location. An inspection module identifies the write request before it reaches the first memory, copies at least the address identifying the location, and forwards the write request to a memory agent within the first memory.

The invention also provides a method of treating or preventing disseminated candidiasis. The method includes administering an immunogenic amount of a vaccine an isolated Als protein family member having cell adhesion activity, or an immunogenic fragment thereof, in a pharmaceutically acceptable medium. A method of treating or preventing disseminated candidiasis also is provided that includes administering an effective amount of an isolated Als protein family member having cell adhesion activity, or an functional fragment thereof, to inhibit the binding or invasion of Candida to a host cell or tissue. The Als protein family member can be derived from a Candida strain selected from the group consisting of Candida albicans, Candida krusei, Candida tropicalis, Candida glabrata and Candida parapsilosis and the Als protein family member includes Als1p, Als3p, Als5p, Als6p, Als7p or Als9p.

摘要: A write allocation technique extends a conventional write allocation procedure employed by a write anywhere file system of a storage system. A write allocator of the file system implements the extended write allocation technique in response to an event in the file system. The extended write allocation technique efficiently allocates blocks, and frees blocks, to and from a virtual volume (vvol) of an aggregate. The aggregate is a physical volume comprising one or more groups of disks, such as RAID groups, underlying one or more vvols of the storage system. The aggregate has its own physical volume block number (pvbn) space and maintains metadata, such as block allocation structures, within that pvbn space. Each vvol also has its own virtual volume block number (vvbn) space and maintains metadata, such as block allocation structures, within that vvbn space. The inventive technique extends input/output efficiencies of the conventional write allocation procedure to comport with an extended file system layout of the storage system.

摘要: A gas substitution system for a dual fuel diesel engine which monitors load and RPM and the operational state of the engine and vehicle including throttle displacement, cruise control, idle, wheel and engine braking, manual control. Data is collected to establish parameters such as fuel consumption and exhaust emissions for load/RPM pair values and using these to create a table of optimum gas substitution values at each load RPM pair within the range of operational states within which substitution is viable. The system is applicable to: constant engine speed stationary applications (gensets); variable engine speed applications, including mobile plant; automative applications with no existing engine management system; automative applications with a basic existing engine management system; automative applications with an advanced existing engine management system.

摘要: The invention relates to a logging method and apparatus adapted for use in non-circular boreholes which, in one embodiment, comprises the use of a first and a second sonde, each sonde having: a pad adapted for contact with the borehole wall, at least a sensor on each pad, and an extendable arm for keeping the pad against the wall of the borehole. The first and second sonde produce measurements related to the same property of the formations, and the first and the second sonde are connected so as to keep the pads aligned with a 90.degree. azimuthal spacing therebetween.

摘要: A method and a machine for automatically bagging articles in a bag and in a sequential and uninterrupted manner. A plurality of articles are continuously fed to the machine and received in two or three compartments, herein three compartments. Once the third article is received in the third compartment, all three articles are discharged within a bag held under the machine. A control circuit, after a predetermined time delay actuates an article support element which is caused to enter into the third compartment or the first compartment depending on the sequence of loading the machine whereby to support a fourth article entering the third compartment due to the fact that the bottom end of all compartments is open. The feeding device is uninterrupted and continues to feed articles to the machine regardless if the bottom discharge gate is open and the sequence is automatically reversed, back and forth, between the first and third and third and first compartments.

摘要: A liquid product carrying plastic film pouch (10) having a straw (12) free-floating in the liquid product (11) is described. The liquid product (11) contained within the inner chamber (13) of the pouch occupies from about 60% to about 90% of the volume of the inner chamber (13) of the pouch and a portion of air from the remaining volume is evacuated in sufficient quantity to permit the side walls (14,15) of the pouch to be collapsed against one another when the pouch is grasped by the hand of a user person. By collapsing the side walls (14,15) together the straw (12) located within the liquid can be grasped and manipulated to puncture the plastic film pouch (1) to extend a portion (12') of the straw (12) exteriorly of the pouch whereby to extract liquid therefrom. The pouch (10) is made of a multilayer resin film having an inner sealant layer (26) formed of a linear low density ethylene-octene copolymer or very low density ethylene copolymer (octene or other copolymers) such that when the straw punctures the film, the inner sealant layer (26) forms a membrane about the straw which exhibits a self-sealing behavior so as to prevent leakage in the punctured region as liquid is extracted from the pouch (10) through the straw (12).
