Abstract:
A method of new radio physical broadcast channel (NR-PBCH) bit mapping is proposed to improve for NR-PBCH decoding performance under Polar codes. NR-PBCH carries 32 information bits and 24 CRC bits. Specifically, NR-PBCH uses 512-bit Polar codes to carry total 56 data bits. Different Polar code bit channels have different channel reliability. As a general rule, the most reliable Polar code bit channels are used for the 56 data bits. In accordance with a novel aspect, within the 32 NR-PBCH information bits, some of the information bits that can be known to the decoders under certain conditions and therefore are placed at the least reliable Polar code bit positions. As a result, by mapping the NR-PBCH data bits properly at the input bit positions of Polar codes, the NR-PBCH decoding performance is improved when the known bits a priori can be exploited.
Abstract:
Concepts and examples pertaining to combined coding design for efficient codeblock extension are described. A processor of a communication apparatus may combine channel polarization of a communication channel with a first coding scheme for first codeblocks of a smaller size to generate a second coding scheme. The processor may also code second codeblocks of a larger size using the second coding scheme.
Abstract:
A communications apparatus and method are provided. The communications method for an apparatus capable of Carrier Aggregation (CA), wherein the apparatus includes a plurality of processing engines and antennas, includes the steps of determining whether the apparatus is configured in a single component carrier for a first group of the antennas; and activating a second group of the antennas if the apparatus is configured in the single component carrier.
Abstract:
A decoding apparatus includes a memory device and a decoding circuit. The memory device is arranged for storing a data block with inter-row interleaving in a plurality of data rows of the data block and without intra-row interleaving in each of the data rows. The decoding circuit is coupled to the memory device. The decoding circuit is arranged for accessing the memory device to perform a first decoding operation with inter-row de-interleaving memory access, and accessing the memory device to perform a second decoding operation with intra-row de-interleaving memory access.
Abstract:
Examples pertaining to synchronization and radio resource management in mobile communications are described. A user equipment (UE) receives a periodic low power synchronization signal (LP-SS) from a network node via a low-power wake-up receiver (LP-WUR) of the apparatus. Then, the UE performs a synchronization based on the periodic LP-SS via the LP-WUR of the apparatus in an event that a main radio of the apparatus is in a power saving mode. The synchronization comprises at least a coarse time synchronization and a coarse frequency synchronization.
Abstract:
Examples pertaining to reference signal (RS) enhancements in mobile communications are described. An apparatus (e.g., a user equipment (UE)) may receive a minimum broadcast RS from a network node (e.g., a base station (BS)). Based on the minimum broadcast RS, the apparatus may perform basic downlink (DL) measurement. The apparatus may also receive or transmit an on-demand RS from or to the network node in a case that a triggering condition is fulfilled. Based on the on-demand RS, the apparatus may perform additional DL or uplink (UL) measurement.
Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and device performing input bit allocation that includes receiving broadcasting information bits, generating timing related bits for the broadcasting information bits, and selecting a portion of the generated timing related bits. The method and device can further include allocating each of the selected timing related bits to selected input bits of an encoder, so that each of the selected timing related bits is allocated to an input bit of the encoder corresponding to an available bit channel of the encoder where the selected inputs bits of the encoder correspond to encoded bits that are located in a front portion of the encoded bits.
Abstract:
Method and UE are provided for scheduling for PDCCH PEI detection. In particular, a BS can transmit a higher layer signaling to a UE. The higher layer signaling includes a configuration of at least one configurable PDCCH candidate number for PEI procedure used under a non-active mode. After receiving the higher layer signaling, the UE performs blind decoding under the non-active mode according to the configuration of the at least one configurable PDCCH candidate number.
Abstract:
A method for enhancing Bandwidth Part (BWP) operation towards Secondary Cell (SCell) dormancy indication is proposed. A User Equipment (UE) detects a Downlink Control Information (DCI) format including an SCell dormancy indication that indicates an active BWP change for a serving cell. The UE performs BWP switching for the serving cell in response to the DCI format. The UE stops transmission or reception in the serving cell during a time duration from a slot containing a last symbol of the DCI format, wherein the time duration includes a first period of time of delay for the BWP switching and a second period of time of interruption to other active serving cells.
Abstract:
Examples pertaining to bit selection for polar coding incremental-redundancy hybrid automatic repeat request (IR-HARQ) are described. An apparatus (e.g., UE) generates a re-transmission polar code block (CB) in a polar incremental redundancy HARQ (IR-HARQ) procedure. The apparatus then transmits the re-transmission polar CB as a re-transmission of an initial transmission of an initial polar code carrying a plurality of information bits. In generating the re-transmission polar CB, the apparatus selects one or more re-transmission information bits from the plurality of information bits.
