The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a highly purified diamond. In the method, a copper powder having purity 99.8% or more and having an acid-insoluble impurity concentration at 50 ppm or less, and graphite are mixed at first. The mixture of the copper powder and graphite is loaded into a sample tube. The sample tube is placed in an explosive tube. Explosive is loaded in the surrounding of the sample tube. Graphite is shock-compressed by the detonation of the explosive to yield diamond.

An inner conductor covers the inner surface of each of the through-holes to form the corresponding resonator. An outer conductor covers a predetermined outer surface of the dielectric ceramic block, excluding the open end surface. Input/output pads are formed on one side surface of the dielectric ceramic block such that the pads face the two end resonators. Each of the through-holes of the end resonators is provided with a counterbore. An auxiliary conductor is disposed on the open end surface to face at least one intermediate resonator between end resonators. The auxiliary conductor at least partially surrounds the intermediate resonator with an insulating gap formed therebetween, and is connected to the outer conductor on the side surface on which the input/output pads are provided. The auxiliary conductor is formed by a conductive material disposed in a concave portion formed in the open end surface and having a pattern corresponding to the pattern of the auxiliary conductor.

There is disclosed a method of manufacturing a dielectric filter in which the dielectric filter can be manufactured in a short time, machining accuracy is raised and a cutting tool is prevented from being easily damaged. First in a degreasing process (S1), a surface of a porcelain element body 2 is cleaned. In a surface roughing process (S2), in order to enhance the adhesion of a plating layer to be formed later, the surface of the porcelain element body 2 is etched to form a rough face. Subsequently, after a catalyzer layer is formed entirely on the surface of the porcelain element body 2 (S3), a portion of the catalyzer layer is removed with an ultrasonic cutter (S4). Then, formed is a region on which an insulating region is to be formed. Subsequently, in a plating process (S5), a conductive layer is formed on a region other than the insulating region. The dielectric filter is thus manufactured. Since the catalyzer layer is thin, it can be removed in a short time, and is superior in productivity. The ultrasonic cutter requires to provide only a small power. Therefore, machining accuracy is enhanced, and the running cost can be reduced.

A valve assembly has a valve seat formed with valve holes which can be opened and closed by sliding a valve body on the valve seat. Its water stopping capacity is kept high after long, continuous use. Its handle operability is also kept high. A valve seat 6 or valve body 11 is made of a synthetic resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a polycyanoarylether resin, and 40-165 parts by weight of glassy carbon having an average particle diameter not exceeding 25 .mu.m. This resin composition may further comprise not more than 30 parts by weight of a fluororesin powder such as PTFE. Otherwise, the valve assembly may have a valve body 11 made of a ceramic material, and a valve seat 6 made of a synthetic resin having a land portion 12 formed on the center of its surface opposite the valve body 11. The diameter of the land portion 12 is smaller than the outer diameter of the valve body 11. Even if the valve seat 6 is deformed under water supply pressure, the land portion 12 can retain its shape. Thus, it is possible to prevent the formation of a gap between the valve body 11 and the land portion 12. A plurality of concentric grooves may be formed in the bottom surface of the lever holder 14. Which may bulge at its inner edge portion so that it has a dome shape. A lubricating grease should be retained in the grooves.
