Abstract: A particular method includes receiving a power save polling frame from a station at an access point. The method also includes, in response to receiving the power save polling frame, transmitting a frame from the access point to the station indicating whether traffic associated with the station is buffered at the access point. Another particular method includes transmitting a frame from the station to the access point indicating that the station is to enter the power save mode and refraining from entering the power save mode until receipt of an end of data frame. Yet another particular method includes receiving a fetch trigger frame at an access point and refraining from transmitting one or more fetched data frames from the access point until a fetch time has elapsed or a delivery trigger frame is received. The access point is configured to communicate with other stations during the fetch time.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for communicating long packets are described herein. In one aspect, an apparatus for wireless communication includes a receiver and a processor. The receiver wirelessly receives via wireless local area network a data unit comprising a plurality of training fields interposed between data symbols. The plurality of training fields includes a first training field followed by a second training field. The first training field includes a gain control sequence, and the second training field includes a channel estimation sequence. The processor decodes at least one data symbol based on the plurality of training fields. In another aspect, an apparatus for wireless communication includes a processor and a transmitter. The processor generates a data unit comprising a plurality of training fields inserted between data symbols, and the transmitter wirelessly transmits the data unit via wireless local area network.

Abstract: A communication device for allocating tones is described that includes a processor and instructions in memory in electronic communication with the processor. The communication device determines whether a bandwidth for signal transmission is 20, 40, 80 or 160 megahertz (MHz). The communication device respectively allocates tones for 20, 40, 80 or 160 MHz as follows: for a very high throughput (VHT) signal A1 (VHT-SIG-A1): 52, 104, 208, 416; a VHT signal A2 (VHT-SIG-A2): 52, 104, 208, 416; a VHT short training field (VHT-STF): 12, 24, 48, 48; one or more VHT long training field(s) (VHT-LTF(s)): 56, 114, 242, 484; a VHT signal B (VHT-SIG-B): 56, 114, 242, 484; and a data field (DATA): 56, 114, 242, 484. The communication device also transmits the signal.

Abstract: A method includes receiving discovery messages from respective devices of an ad-hoc wireless network. The messages are received by a first device in the ad-hoc wireless network prior to a particular discovery interval. The discovery messages include information identifying the respective devices. The method further includes caching the information identifying the respective devices. During the particular discovery interval, a first discovery message is sent. The first discovery message includes a request to reserve a paging interval during the particular discovery interval. The first discovery message further includes an indication of the information.
