Abstract:
A vehicle body includes a center pillar structure including an outer reinforcement having an outer wall and two side walls defining a channel. Two reinforcements are located within the channel, each rigidly interconnecting the outer wall with a respective one of the sidewalls. A tension panel preferably interconnects the two sidewalls. The center pillar structure is characterized by continuity of strength along its height and increased resistance to vertical compressive loads.
Abstract:
Disclosed are novel tricyclic compounds of the formula: and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Y is C or CH. When Y is C then Z is not present and the optional bond from Y to the C-11 carbon of the tricyclic nucleus is present. When Y is CH then Z is present and Z is H or —OH. The compounds are useful for inhibiting farnesyl protein transferase. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds of formula 1.0. Also disclosed are methods of treating cancer using the compounds of formula 1.0.
Abstract:
An access point is to handle received broadcast or multicast traffic as multiple instances of unicast traffic, where each instance is destined for a corresponding wireless client device associated with the access point. A client device may adjust its listen interval parameter according to predefined considerations, for example a charge level of a battery to power the client device and an expected usage model for the device. A client device may initiate a reassociation request to inform the access point of its adjusted listen interval parameter.
Abstract:
A single access point may manage two or more wireless networks, each having a network name. The access point may be configured to store delivery traffic indication message (DTIM) period values on a per network name basis. A processor of the access point may manage, on a per network name basis, timing of transmission of delivery traffic indication messages.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and apparatus for fast satellite antenna acquisition via signal identification. The method and apparatus operate by positioning a satellite antenna using signal identification in order to reduce false satellite signal locks and missed detections and speed the acquisition of the correct satellite.
Abstract:
The present invention provides compounds of formula I wherein X, Y, R1-R7 are as defined herein. Compositions containing these compounds, and methods for inhibiting HCV RNA-dependent RNA polymerase and treating hepatitis C and related disorders using these compounds and compositions are also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a radiosurgery and/or radiotherapy x-ray system including a collision avoidance subsystem for detecting and avoiding obstacles during treatment. The system includes an x-ray source having an emission head at a distal end of an articulated arm assembly extending from a base unit, with the head being adapted for selectively emitting an x-ray beam along a beam axis, and including an associated controller for selectively orienting the head whereby the beam extends along a succession of treatment axes. The system further includes a collision avoidance subsystem including means for preventing the head and arm assembly from effecting a collision with an object in one or more pre-computed exclusion zones.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a vehicle mountable satellite antenna as defined in the claims which is operable while the vehicle is in motion. The satellite antenna of the present invention can be installed on top of (or embedded into) the roof of a vehicle. The antenna is capable of providing high gain and a narrow antenna beam for aiming at a satellite direction and enabling broadband communication to vehicle. The present invention provides a vehicle mounted satellite antenna which has low axial ratio, high efficiency and has low grating lobes gain. The vehicle mounted satellite antenna of the present invention provides two simultaneous polarization states.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a topical cosmetic composition that has improved non-oily feel comprising: (a) a hybrid silicone composite powder having a spherical shape with particle diameter ranging from 2 to 10 μm, of which each particle has a composite structures consisting of two interpenetrating polymer networks of polydimethylsiloxane (PMS) and polymethylsilsesquioxane (PMSQ). These two interpenetrating polymer networks are joined together by physical entanglements instead of chemical bonds; (b) a volatile cosmetic fluid; (c) a silicone fluid with viscosity ranging from 2 to 350 cSt; (d) an oil base consisting of an oil, wax, oil gelling agent or the mixture thereof; (e) a surface active agent; (f) a cosmetic pigment; and (g) an optional aqueous gel containing glycerin, glycols and an aqueous thickening agent. The cosmetic composition provides an improved skin sensory feel and a superior matte finish, and is useful for skin treatment, makeup and personal hygiene products.
Abstract:
A disk drive write head (10) having a bottom pole (60), a first insulation layer (64) formed on the bottom pole (60), a coil (38) formed on the first insulation layer (64), a second insulation layer (66) formed on the coil (38), a write gap layer (76) formed on the second insulation layer (66), and a top pole (12) formed on the write gap layer (76), where the top pole (12) is substantially flat.A second embodiment (100) is described which is produced by a damascene process.
