    摘要: The present invention comprehends the provision of a fluid tight holding chamber which accumulates solution (1) from the vial that aspirates or is pressured out of the vial upon extraction of the cannula from the vial or (2) is aspirated from the syringe before the cannula is removed from the holding chamber. The holding chamber is defined in the neck of the vial by an insert. The insert may be one piece or two piece and has an inner end sealing the contents of the vial from the holding chamber and an outer end sealing the aspirated medicament in the holding chamber. The insert has a luer seal for sealing against the luer connector on the syringe during the practice of certain procedures.

The apparatus includes a supply magazine for holding a protective film and a take-up magazine for receiving and holding spent film. A film advance mechanism is provided for advancing the film from the supply magazine across the lens to a take-up magazine and a manual actuator is provided for the advancing mechanism.

    摘要: A circuit for carrying data between a host system and a remote unit includes first and second edge-triggered delay-type flip-flops coupled to first and second input lines, respectively. Combinational logic coupled to the output of the first flip-flop and to the first and second input lines transmits data on at least one of the input lines to the remote unit. This creates a redundancy which provides for the continued transmission of data between the host and the remote unit in the event that one of the input channels fails.

    摘要: Fluorogenic substrates for proteolytic enzymes having the formula: ##STR1## or acid salts thereof wherein: R.sub.1 is hydrogen-L, hydrogen-D, benzoyl, benzenesulfonyl, glutaryl, pyroglutamyl, carbobenzoxy, D-serine, or carbobenzoxy-serine;R.sub.2 is hydrogen, phenyl, a straight, branched or cyclic alkyl having 1 to 4 carbons, or propionic acid;R.sub.3 is hydrogen, straight or branched or cyclic alkyl having 1 to 4 carbons, 4-aminobutane, or 3-guanidylpropane;R.sub.4 is methyl, 4-aminobutane, or 3-guanidylpropane;R.sub.5 is a fluorogenic moiety, severable from said compound by a proteolytic enzyme and having different fluorescent property when severed from said compound than when forming part of said compound.The enzymes, when reacting with the substrate, remove the fluorogenic group R.sub.5 producing an increase in its fluorescence. The increase of the fluorescence is an indication of the activity of the enzyme present. Specific enzymes thusly detectable include plasmin, thrombin, the factors X.sub.a, XI.sub.a, and XII.sub.a, kallikrein, trypsin, elastase, urokinase, and cathepsin B.sub.1.

    摘要: Analysis of proteinases is accomplished using conventional amino acid containing aromatic amine substrates. Aromatic amines such as 4-methoxy-2-naphthylamine (4M2NA), 2-naphthylamine, aminoisophthalic acid dimethyl ester, p-nitroaniline, 4-methoxy-1-aminofluorene and coumarin derivatives resulting from enzymatic hydrolysis of the substrate couples with aromatic aldehydes such as 5-nitrosalicylaldehyde (5-NSA), benzaldehyde and p-nitrobenzaldehyde to produce Schiff-base complexes which are water insoluble. Certain Schiff-base complexes produce a shift from blue to orange-red (visible) fluorescence. Such complexes are useful in the assay of enzymes.
