A novel carbosiloxane dendrimer is disclosed containing a radically polymerizable group in the molecule and which possesses excellent polymerization reactivity. The carbosiloxane dendrimer can be used to provide organic polymers as afforded by the polymerization of the carbosiloxane dendrimer either alone or with other organic monomers. The radically polymerizable group-functional carbosiloxane dendrimer with the general formula (R1 is C1 to C10 alkyl or aryl, R2 is a divalent organic group excluding C1 to C10 alkylene, b is 1 to 3, X1 is a silylalkyl group, and Y is a radically polymerizable group). Also, dendrimer-containing organic polymer as afforded by the polymerization of (A) the aforesaid carbosiloxane dendrimer and (B) radically polymerizable organic monomer.

This invention relates to a macromonomer and a method for its preparation. The macromonomer has silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms at one molecular chain terminal, and aliphatically unsaturated silicon-bonded organic groups at the other molecular chain terminal. This invention further related to a method of forming a hyperbranched polymer by polymerizing the macromonomer with a group VIII metal catalyst. The hyperbranched polymers can be used as surfactants, gelling agents, drug delivery systems, and polymeric absorbents.

The present invention relates to a radiation curable silicone release coating composition comprising (A) an alicyclic epoxy-functional silicone graft copolymer, (B) an organic compound having at least 2 alicyclic epoxy groups, and (C) a photocuring catalyst. The compositions of this invention are highly adhesive to a variety of substrates, have excellent coatability, and the release resistance values of films having the composition of this invention cured thereon can be adjusted over a wide range of values.

A highly efficient method for preparing an organopolysiloxane which contains little low molecular weight organosiloxane is disclosed, said method comprising:(I) polymerizing(A) cyclic trisiloxane having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a monovalent hydrocarbon radical, excluding aryl radical, using as a polymerization initiator(B) a lithium compound having the formula ##STR2## in which R' is independently selected from monovalent hydrocarbon radicals, X and X' are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and lithium, with the proviso that one of X and X' must be lithium, and m is an integer having a value of at least 1, optionally, in the presence of(C) a molecular-weight regulator selected from the group consisting of water and a compound having the formula ##STR3## in which R' has its previously defined meaning and p is an integer having a value of at least 1,said polymerization taking place in the presence of both(D) a nitrile compound and(E) an active hydrogen-free polar solvent; and(II) terminating the polymerization reaction product from step (I) with a neutralizing agent selected from the group consisting of an acid and an organohalosilane.
