    摘要: A laser driving device is provided that can support a higher speed and drives a semiconductor laser (3) to emit light in a pulse-like manner in accordance with a digital signal. The laser driving device includes a temperature sensor (5), a recording pulse generator (1), an auxiliary pulse generator (4), and an adder (8). The temperature sensor (5) produces a measured temperature that changes in accordance with a temperature of the semiconductor laser. The recording pulse generator (1), the auxiliary pulse generator (4), and the adder (8) produce a pulse-like signal having a shape corresponding to the measured temperature.

    摘要: An optical disc medium 10 having a wobbled track groove 12 includes three wobble patterns including a flat wobble pattern, a positive pulse wobble pattern, and a negative pulse wobble pattern. In the flat wobble pattern, the amplitude of the wobble from the lengthwise direction of the track groove is zero such that the track groove is flat. In the positive pulse wobble pattern, the amplitude of the wobble from the length-wise direction of the track groove is positive such that the track groove is wobbled in a first direction perpendicular to the length-wise direction. Further, in the negative pulse wobble pattern, the amplitude of the wobble from the lengthwise direction of the track groove is negative such that the track groove is wobbled in a second direction opposite to the first direction. Then, three data values can be recorded using three distinctive wobble patterns.

    摘要: An optical disk device comprising a first light source of a first wavelength, a second light source of a second wavelength, first and second objective lenses for focusing light beams of the first and second wavelengths at a predetermined position, an actuator supporting the first and second objective lenses and movable between first and second positions, focus detecting means, focus computing means for outputting a focus error signal and controlling means for, on receiving the focus error signal, controlling the on/off of the first and second light sources and the position of the actuator in a first direction generally perpendicular to a major surface of the loaded optical disk. While the actuator is moving from the first position to the second position or from the second one to the first one, a semi-focused state is detected from the focus error signal outputted from the focus computing means.
