摘要: A powered lumbar support device includes a panel having a first end and a second end. The panel is biased in a forward direction for providing an arch in a seat back. A lumbar frame extends downwardly from a support element for slideably supoprting the panel. A first cable is affixed to one of the ends of the panel and to an arching rack of a first gear box. Linear movement of the arching rack transfers motion to one of the ends to change the distance between the ends by moving the first cable. The powered lumbar support device includes a second gear box having a moving rack and a moving pinion for vertically shifting the lumbar support device. The second gear box may also be used to actuate additional support features, such as a bolster.

摘要: In an optical telecommunications network in accordance with the principles of the present invention, a link connection undergoes an automatic port recognition process, whereby the port binding information for the link is detected, recorded and shared with the network elements connected by the link, before the link is used to transmit bearer traffic. One of a group of optical network elements that communicate through an out of band channel, such as a LAN, is “elected” a network element leader. After election, the leader network element coordinates the port discovery process; requests for port “recognition”, responses to requests, and other messages are passed through the network element leader on the out of band channel from one non-leader network element to another. Once the recognition process is set up through the leader network element, an optical test signal is transmitted along the link in question from the recognition requesting network element to all other network element s in the network. The receiving network elements monitor the power level at each of their “inactive” ports and the inactive port at which an increased energy level is detected is determined to be the port attached to the link in question.

摘要: A method for replacing, refreshing, and managing content in a communication network is provided. The method defines an object policy mechanism that applies media replacement policy rules to defined classes of stored content objects. The object policy mechanism may classify stored content objects into object groups or policy targets. The object policy mechanism may also define metric thresholds and event triggers as policy conditions. The object policy mechanism may further apply replacement policy algorithms or defined policy actions against a class of stored content objects. The media replacement policy rules are enforced at edge content storage repositories in the communication network. A computing device for carrying out the method, and a method for creating, reading, updating, and deleting policy elements and managing policy engine operations, are also provided.

摘要: An approach is provided for determining a user age range. An age estimator causes, at least in part, acquisition of voice data. Next, the age estimator calculates a first set of probability values, wherein each of the probability values represents a probability that the voice data is in a respective one of a plurality of predefined age ranges, and the predefined age ranges are segments of a lifespan. Then, the age estimator derives a second set of probability values by applying a correlation matrix to the first set of probability values, wherein the correlation matrix associates the first set of probability values with probabilities of the voice data matching individual ages over the lifespan. Then, the age estimator, for each of the predefined age ranges, calculates a sum of the probabilities in the second set of probability values corresponding to the individual ages within the respective predefined age ranges. Further, the age estimator determines the predefined age range to associate with the voice data based, at least in part, on the calculated sums of the probabilities.

摘要: Various embodiments are directed to systems and methods for checking in at a business with a mobile computing device. For example, the mobile computing device may receive via a data network, location information for a venue. The mobile computing device may also determine whether a location of the mobile computing device is available. Conditioned upon the location of the mobile computing device being available, the mobile computing device may determine whether the location of the mobile computing device is within a threshold distance of the venue. Conditioned upon the location of the mobile computing device being within the threshold distance of the venue, the mobile computing device may send a check-in message to a server. The check-in message may indicate that the user of the mobile computing device is at the venue.

摘要: A system and method for performing echo suppression on a server in browser-based online audio conferences without downloading or installing software on a participant's computing device is disclosed. Streams of audio communication data from the participants in an audio conference are received at the server. An echo suppression application determines the first party that speaks by analyzing the streams to locate speech data, and assigns that party as the “owner” of the audio channel. The speech data is sent to the other participants in the conference. The application then determines whether newly received audio from the owner of the channel is new speech; if so, then the party remains the owner of the channel, and the new speech data is also sent to the other parties in the conference. The channel is surrendered if no new speech is received from the owner in a defined period, and the next party that speaks becomes the new owner of the channel. The other audio data from the participants is replaced by silence.

摘要: Various embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for reducing low frequency loss in a magnetic storage device. For example, a data processing circuit is disclosed that includes an amplifier, two filters and a summation element. The amplifier provides an amplified output that is filtered using a first of the two filters to create a first filtered output. The first filtered output is then filtered using the second of the two filters to create a second filtered output. The summation element sums the first filtered output with the second filtered output to provide a pole altered output.
