摘要: A method and apparatus for producing rastered printing forms, in which an image pattern is opto-electronically scanned to obtain an image signal, and the printing form production is effected by means of an energy beam recording device controlled by the image signal, whereby the raster points are recorded in a raster network having arbitrary raster angles, by means of relative motion between the printing form and the recording device, in which the pattern to be reproduced is scanned to simultaneously provide image signals for a plurality of adjacent image points of such a pattern, following which, for the control of the recording device, the image signal of that image point is selected whose local position on the image pattern is congruent with the local position of the raster point to be presently recorded, in the formation of the desired raster angles.

摘要: A method of electronically retouching a pattern, for example in connection with a type symbol scanning apparatus for obtaining type data for an electronic light type setting arrangement or the like, for the derivation of recording data relating thereto, in which the pattern is scanned in a dot and image line fashion to form an image signal from a sequence of alternating conditions representative, of the black and white segments of an image line with the sequence of conditions being transformed into recording data, in which the length of the respective segments are compared with predetermined minimum lengths and if a segment is below the minimum length, i.e., represents a defect, it is transformed into recording data of the type corresponding to that of the immediately preceding condition, thereby automatically eliminating such defect segment.

摘要: Method for the digital run-length coding with redundance reduction for the transmission of binary-coded picture information, whereby short code words are assigned to run lengths which occur often, and long code words are assigned to rare run lengths and whereby, from a given run length on, a prefix word for the differentiation of code words of the shorter run-lengths is assigned to the run-lengths, as well as a code word following the prefix word and stating the respective run-lengths as a binary number. Black and white run-lengths which are transmitted by a code word are associated with different code words, depending on how often they occur. The given run-length, from which the coding is to be done with the help of a prefix word, is different for black and white run-lengths. An individual code word is transmitted at the beginning of a line, and it differs from the code words for the individual run-lengths, from the word combination resulting from the prefix word and the subsequent code words, and which does not occur as bit combination of several words or partial words, respectively, in the transmitted data flow.

摘要: An engraving device having a rotary system including a shaft supported in a bearing for rotation through very small angles, means to oscillate the shaft, an engraving needle carried on a lever attached to one end of the shaft adjacent the bearing and a dampening device characterized by the dampening device being arranged between the bearing and lever and the dampening device applying symmetrical forces on the shaft so that the dampening forces do not create bending forces on the shaft. Preferably the dampening device is located closely adjacent to the lever. A preferred embodiment of the dampening device uses a stationary support having a surface surrounding the shaft and either a closed ring of fluoro-plastic dampening material which is connected to the shaft and surface or two or more fluoro-plastic elements which are circumferentially spaced between the shaft and the surface and connected thereto. In another embodiment of the dampening device either an annular ring is attached to the shaft and is received in an annular container of grease or a pair of circumferentially spaced wings are attached to the shaft and extend in to symmetrically arranged containers of grease.

摘要: An opto-electronic scanning head for drum and flat bed scanning apparatus for point-by-point and line-by-line scanning of opaque and transparent originals which are illuminated point-by-point. The housing of the scanning head 7 has a front panel 9 which is displaceable along the optical axis 12 of the scanning objective lens 11 and has a housing part which is stationary with respect to the optical axis 12. The scanning objective 11 is mounted in the front panel 9, but the diaphragm 13 and the opto-electronic transducer 14 are mounted in the housing portion 8. The scanning objective 11 can be displaced over a broad range with a sensitive adjustment mechanism for the front panel 9 so that the focus range can always be placed into the image plane of the originals and thus optimum image sharpness can be achieved for originals having all different thicknesses. In the scanning head 7 for opaque scanning, the illumination system 27, 28, 29, and 31 is used for the point to point illumination of the originals and the illumination system is arranged in the displaceable front panel 9 such that the optical axis 30 extends through the focus range of the scanning objective 11 and as a result the illumination system 27, 28 and 29 always generates a focus illumination point on the original regardless of the position of the front panel 9 or of the scanning objective 11 so that optimum illumination of the originals is always achieved for all thicknesses of originals and also the optimum image is maintained sharp.

摘要: An apparatus for scanning a transparency image original wherein scattered light emerging from the original is guided through lens or diffraction gratings onto a diffusion screen attached to a light mixer. In the light mixer, the light is mixed by multiple reflection and, at a light exit of the mixer, is guided to a cross-sectional transducer formed of a plurality of optical fibers. These fibers conduct the light onto a photoelectric transducer. The apparatus works with high efficiency and reduces an image falsifying influence of the Callier effect to such a degree that it no longer has a disturbing appearance in reproduction.
