Abstract:
A method for detecting a double-talk condition and an echo cancellation system using the same are introduced herein. According to an exemplary embodiment, the method may be adapted to an double-talk detector of an echo cancellation system and includes the following steps: obtaining an input signal with a first power; computing a second power, wherein the second power is a power combination of at least one estimated signal; determining whether the double-talk condition occurs according to a relationship between the first power and the second power, when the first power is larger than the second power, the double-talk condition occurs.
Abstract:
A multi-mode controller (MMC) manages communications on a wireless device to provide interoperability between multiple radio access technologies (RATs) or radio access protocols.
Abstract:
A user equipment for alleviating barred access while reselecting from a first cell to a second cell in a mobile communication system is provided. A wireless module detects receives system information broadcasted in the first cell. A storage unit stores the system information. A controller reselects the user equipment from the first cell to the second cell. Particularly, the cell reselection is not performed during a connection establishment procedure. Also, the controller determines whether a first barred access timer is running in response to reselecting from the first cell to the second cell, and stops the first barred access timer and informs the upper layer of an RRC protocol that the access of the first service is allowed in response of that the first barred access timer is running.
Abstract:
A mobile communication device for access probe handoff is provided. In the mobile communication device, a wireless module performs wireless transmissions and receptions to and from a first cellular station and a second cellular station, and a controller module configures the mobile communication device to operate in a selective retransmission mode, and detects that a signal quality of the first cellular station is less than a predetermined threshold during an access sub-attempt to the first cellular station via the wireless module. Also, the controller module hands off the mobile communication device from the first cellular station to the second cellular station in response to detecting that the signal quality of the first cellular station is less than a predetermined threshold, and clears a physical layer buffer and restarts a selective acknowledgement (SACK) operation for the selective retransmission mode after the handoff of the mobile communication device.
Abstract:
This invention discloses a system comprising a first comparator circuit configured to assert a first control signal in response to a first input number matching one of a first numbers stored therein, a second comparator circuit configured to assert a second control signal in response to: (i) at least one latched assertion of the first control signal; (ii) a second input number matching an intermediate number produced by incrementing the first input number; and (iii) an assertion of an input signal, and to de-assert the second control signal absent of either the matching between the second input number and the intermediate number or the de-assertion of the input signal, and a generator circuit configured to output a predetermined instruction data stored therein in response to the assertion of the first control signal, and to output a third number in response to the assertions of the second control signal.
Abstract:
A method and system for reducing transmission power when signaling in groups. For a group of identically-sized signals a majority value can be determined. The majority value may be transmitted as an additional signal, and all indications of the group that match the majority indication can be gated “off.” The disclosed signaling method and apparatus saves transmit power. Transmit power savings generally increase as the size of the signaling group increases, as the proportion of the group sharing the majority indication increases, and as the correlation between different members of the group increases. Therefore, signaling units of ACK and/or data rate control (DRC) and/or power control information, regarding data packets conveyed on a plurality of active forward link (FL) carriers to a particular receiver, are good candidates for majority signaling.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for communicating data signals using a spread spectrum cellular network, the cellular network including a plurality of base stations coupled to the cellular network the mobile unit assigned to one of the plurality of base stations. The method and apparatus receives a signal of another of the plurality of base stations (target base station) and determines the interference density to the target base station from the received signal.
Abstract:
A novel method and apparatus for generating transmit adaptive antenna weights with nulling using binary gradient feedback is disclosed. The method and apparatus of the present invention allows a communication system to provide adequate power to a desired receiver and reduce interference to proximate receivers. The method and apparatus of the present invention generates transmit adaptive antenna weights that direct (or “steer”) nulling to proximate receivers, and thus reduce interference to these proximate receivers. The generating transmit adaptive antenna weights method and apparatus utilizes a feedback algorithm that tracks a normalized weight vector toward a maximum of an inverse cost function. The method and apparatus of the present invention improves the performance and capacity of a CDMA system. Specifically, the present inventive method and apparatus decreases the overall interference in a communication system.
