Abstract:
In a system for separating solids from a liquid in a slurry, a filter apparatus is cleaned by a jet and a removal device. The filter is generally flat and has an inflow side on which the solids are deposited and an outflow side supported by a grid. The grid subdivides the outflow side into a plurality of separate injection chambers and defines a plurality of separate small regions of the filter. The jet directs a stream of liquid through one of the injection chambers and against one of the small regions of the filter defined by the injection chamber. A cover plate is provided on the jet for engaging the grid to close one injection chamber opposite the filter. The removal device is located on the inflow side of the filter and is aligned with the jet to receive solids dislodged from the filter. The jet and removal device move simultaneously and in alignment to close selectively and to direct a stream of liquid through each of the injection chambers.
Abstract:
The sifting device consists of a chamber with an opening for feeding pulp to be sifted; a cylinder plate installed in the chamber so that it can be rotated around its axis; at least one fixed sieve cleaner with an outlet pipe open toward the sieve surface for removing reject pulp, a lower pressure prevailing in the outlet pipe than on the sieve surface; a detachment organ for reject installed in connection with the outlet pipe; and a blocking piece on the side opposite to the open part of the outlet pipe.

1,202,314. Simultaneously filtering and backflushing. CARRIER CORP. 28 Feb., 1968 [23 Aug., 1967], No. 9712/68. Heading B1D. Fluid flows into a chamber 63, through an opening in a plate 59 (arrow A), through a basket strainer 73, and into an outlet chamber 65. Partition 69 prevents fluid entering the right-hand half of the basket. After clogging occurs, valve plate 61 is rotated by a handle secured to a shaft 79, thus allowing flow through plate 59 into the right-hand half of the basket 73 but preventing flow into the lefthand half. The left-hand half is backwashed by opening the left-hand valve 77.
Abstract:
A flue gas cleaning solution purification system includes: a scrubber for removing contaminants from flue gas by using a cleaning solution; a cleaning solution purification unit for purifying the contaminated cleaning solution discharged from the scrubber; a cleaning solution resupply unit for resupplying the cleaning solution having been purified by the cleaning solution purification unit to the scrubber; and a sludge treatment unit for treating and storing sludge discharged from the cleaning solution purification unit, wherein the cleaning solution purification unit includes: a circulation buffer tank for temporarily storing the discharged contaminated cleaning solution; a coagulant supply apparatus for supplying a coagulant which coagulates contaminants of the contaminated cleaning solution discharged from the scrubber; a settling apparatus for primarily purifying the contaminated cleaning solution discharged from the scrubber by enabling settling of the contaminants; and a filtering apparatus for secondarily purifying the cleaning solution by filtering the contaminated cleaning solution to remove the contaminants.
Abstract:
A backflushing filter having an inlet, an outlet, and a drain; a filter that divides a housing into an inlet chamber that is connected to the inlet and an outlet chamber that is connected to the outlet; a backflushing device having a suction element arranged so that it is able to rotate around the filter on the inlet side of the housing with at least one suction opening that is oriented in the suction direction toward the filter for filter-cleaning purposes; a backflushing duct connected to a suction opening and an outlet opening; and a rotating device which drives the rotational movement of the suction element around the filter when a pressure drop occurs in the backflushing duct; wherein when the pressure drop in the back flushing duct occurs, the rotating device drives the rotational movement of the suction element by the suction direction of the suction opening that is inclined relative to the radial direction of the suction element.
Abstract:
A fluid filtering apparatus such as for filtering particulates and other materials from treated water includes a tank and a filtering region configured as a plurality of individual effluent regions, defined in part by channel frames, disposed between a plurality of influent regions interposed between the effluent regions. Filter plates having an opening therethrough covered by a filter media are removable receivable in the channel frames, such that filter media in filter plates in adjacent channel frames is in a facing, opposed, relationship. A double sided backwash shoe is scannable in the influent regions, to simultaneously clean opposed filter media exposed thereto. The backwash shoe is free to move inwardly and outwardly of the opposed filter media. Additionally, the tank may include a second filtering region, which is selectively isolatable from the first filtering region.
Abstract:
A backwash header for a cloth filter includes a body having a length, a diameter, first and second ends, a longitudinal axis, and an exterior surface, the body defining at least one internal cavity. The body includes at least one suction slot sized to allow fluids and solids to enter the internal cavity from outside of the exterior surface. A structure is attached to a portion of the exterior surface of the body around and extending away from the suction slot to form an open-ended chamber defined by the structure and a portion of the exterior surface near the suction slot. The structure allows fluids and solids to enter the open-ended chamber and then the suction slot and cavity from a material being cleaned. Cloth filters and methods of treating water and wastewater using the backwash headers and cloth filters.
