    摘要: The invention describes a tubing device of the type operatively connectable to an excavation machine and configured to perform an excavation in the ground contained, at least partially, inside at least one tube segment. The tubing device comprises a base frame, at least one guiding tower for the tube segment, operatively connected to the base frame, and a tube operating unit, operatively connected to the guiding tower. The tube operating unit is slidable along the guiding tower and is provided with engaging means capable of both selectively holding the tube segment, and of transmitting a rotary motion and an axial sliding movement to such a tube segment so as to allow the progressive driving in the ground and subsequent extraction from the ground. The axial sliding movement is guided by the guiding tower and the width of such axial sliding movement is determined by the stroke of the tube operating unit on such a guiding tower and is proportional to at least once the diameter of the tube segment.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for forming a support aggregate pier having compacted aggregate lifts in a soil matrix, includes an elongate, hollow tube with a bulbous leading end bottom head element that is forced or lowered into the soil matrix. The hollow tube includes a mechanism for releasing aggregate from the lower head element of the tube as the tube is lifted in predetermined increments. The same hollow tube is then lowered or pushed in predetermined increments to vertically compact the released aggregate in thin aggregate lifts, while forcing a portion of the compacted aggregate transaxially into the soil matrix at the sidewalls of the cavity. The process may be repeated to form a series of compacted aggregate lifts comprising an aggregate pier or the process may include forming only a single lift for the aggregate pier while densifying adjacent matrix soils and imparting lateral stress in these soils.

    摘要: A primary earth penetrating mandrel formed of a hollow shell steel plate octagonal in cross-section has an upper end and a blunt lower end joined by an upwardly and outwardly tapered wall. The mandrel is driven downwardly in the earth to simultaneously form a vertical tapered cavity while compacting the sidewall of the cavity to provide structural integrity. The mandrel is then moved upwardly from the bottom of the cavity and aggregate is deposited in the bottom of the cavity following which the mandrel is lowered so that its blunt lower end engages the deposited aggregate and densifies the aggregate by vertical vibratory action and static force with these steps being repeated until the pier top is near the surface of the earth at which time the upper aggregate portions are densified by either the primary mandrel or a secondary mandrel having a substantially larger lower end surface than the lower end surface of the primary mandrel. A second embodiment includes a conduit in the primary mandrel for injecting concrete or grout into aggregate previously deposited in the cavity.

    摘要: A pile is installed in a drilled hole in the ground by inserting a tube extending to the bottom and providing on the bottom end of the tube a bottom shoe for compressing material at the bottom of the hole. A drive tool attached to the upper end of the tube applies downward compression and reciprocating rotation forces to the tube. A hammer by-passes the drive tool to apply impact forces to an upper surface of the shoe at the bottom of the tube acting to drive the shoe in downward movement so that the shoe slides downwardly relative to the tube. A radial surface of the shoe causes compressive forces on the material at the bottom of the hole and blades on the radial surface when reciprocated back and forth by the tube cause break up of the compressed material to allow repeated compression and significantly increased supported loads on a pile which is applied with the tube removed and is supported on the shoe.
