Abstract: A safety cabinet is disclosed which includes an enclosure having a double-wall construciton and a pair of doors to selectively seal the enclosure. The safety cabinet includes a retaining system for retaining the doors in an open position and a closure system for automatically closing the doors. The safety cabinet also includes a latch system for selectively retaining the doors in a closed position to cover the enclosure. The latch system includes a paddle handle, first and second slide plates, a bullet slam latch, and first and second latch rod assemblies. The safety cabinet can be used to store, for example, flammable liquids, flammable waste, corrosives, pesticides, or combustible waste.

Abstract: Drive system for moving a load along a curved path. The drive system includes a base for mounting the drive system, the base having a curved track for guiding the load along the curved path. There is a load engaging mechanism mounted on the base for movement relative to the base, the load engaging mechanism being for moving the load. The load engaging mechanism has a curved track engaging roller for engaging the curved track. A linear drive mechanism including a linearly driven member is mounted on the base. The linearly driven member includes a driving pivot. A drive link is attached to the driving pivot at a drive force receiving end of the drive link, the drive link including a driven pivot at a drive force communicating end of the drive link. The driven pivot is attached to the load engaging mechanism, whereby linear motion of the driving pivot causes motion of the load along the curved path.

Abstract: First and second door leaves are pivotable with respect to a door frame and each door leaf has a hinge edge at which it is hingedly attached to the door frame. Each door leaf is provided with a door closer and a pull arm for closing the door leaf. The door frame is provided with a guide rail mounted to the door frame for guiding movement of distal ends of the pull arms longitudinally of the guide member. During closing movement of the second door leaf, the distal end of the second pull arm moves along the guide rail initially in an allowing direction, away from the hinge edge of the second door leaf, and subsequently in a blocking direction, towards the hinge edge of the second door leaf. During closing movement of the second door leaf, a blocking device allows movement of the distal end of the second pull arm past the blocking device in the allowing direction and selectively prevents return movement of the distal end of the second pull arm past the blocking device in the blocking direction.

Abstract: An elevator door operator for positioning elevator doors along an arcuate pathway includes a linearly displaceable actuator and a pair of linkage arms, each pivotally connected to the other and connected to one end of the linearally displaceable actuator. The linkage arms are also each pivotally connected at their opposite ends to each of two support arms, each of which support arms are pivotally connected at one of their ends to each other and secured at their opposite ends, respectively to each of the door panels. The door operator may be provided as part of a door assembly which additionally includes an upper guide track comprising an elongate bar including at least two generally planar support surfaces, which guide track is mounted above the door opening to define an arcuate door travel pathway, two door panels, suspended from the upper guide track via a carriage assembly which includes a carriage frame and at least two wheels each supported by, and in rolling contact with, at least two of the support surfaces on the guide track, and a hinge pin extending from the carriage frame to pivotally connect the carriage assembly to the door panel. One embodiment operates a single door for positioning along an arcuate pathway.

Abstract: A door closer with integral check action comprising a rigid rod movable inwardly and outwardly of a tubular housing which is adapted to be mounted on a door. The rigid rod is pivotally connected to a rigid link plate itself pivotally connected to a fixing plate for mounting on the door frame. A spring within the housing urges the rod inwardly to close the door. On one side of a transverse wall, through which the rod extends, is a fluid filled chamber in which moves a piston, carried by the rigid rod. Valve means on the piston act to resist only inward movement of the piston as the door is closed by the force of said spring and the rate of closure of the door is thereby controlled without substantially restricting outward movement of the piston in response to opening of the door.
