    Abstract: The invention relates to a device for ascertaining mechanical properties, for example, the natural frequency, the damping or the natural vibration mode of a test specimen containing ferromagnetic material components, in particular a brake pad for a motor vehicle. An electromagnetic actuator, in particular an electromagnet, is provided for exerting a magnetic attractive force onto the test specimen so that the actuator exerts a force impulse that imparts the test specimen with vibrations whose spectrum of vibration contains at least one natural frequency vibration of the test specimen.

    Abstract: An impact test apparatus allows a retaining member to retain a test object. The retaining member is attached to an elastic member. When a weight is made to collide against the test object, impact is applied to the test object. The test object is subjected to free oscillation in response to the impact. The elasticity of the elastic member accepts the movement of the retaining member. Damping of the free oscillation of the test object is minimized. The impact test sufficiently reflects the influence of the free oscillation.

    Abstract: A tensile test fixture and a tensile test method are provided. The tensile test fixture suits to perform a tensile test for a specimen. The tensile test fixture includes a base, a pull bar and a forcing member. The pull bar includes a limiting member, a specimen-fixing member and a shaft member. Wherein, the shaft member is connected between the position limiting member and the specimen-fixing member, and the specimen is fixed between the base and the specimen-fixing member. Otherwise, the forcing member has a cavity, which includes an opening. The shaft member passes through the opening, and the position limiting member is located in the cavity. The dimension of the limiting member is larger than the dimension of the opening so that the limiting member is restricted within the cavity. The forcing member is adopted to pull the limiting member to perform a tensile test for the specimen.
