摘要: A rotation-speed sensor device is provided to comprise an encoder supported by a rotating race of a rolling bearing unit for vehicle wheel support to be concentric with the rotating race and having a detected portion the characteristics of which are alternately changed in a circumferential direction, a rotation detection sensor supported by a non-rotating member on the vehicle chassis side and having a detecting portion facing the detected portion to produce a detection signal, a wireless transmission device for sending the detection signal from the rotation detection sensor to a controller provided on the vehicle chassis side, and a self-diagnosis circuit to judge whether there is an error or not in the rotation detection sensor.

摘要: A self-adjusting retention bushing and assembly for a vehicle anti-lock braking system using a resilient spring bushing with an integral locking prong is described. The locking prong is deflected and spring loaded to engage the sensor when the sensor is installed. The locking prong resists movement of the sensor relative to the bushing. The deflected locking prong also resists retraction of the bushing from the mounting block. The locking features prevent inadvertent movement of the sensor during assembly, repair or use.

摘要: A hub assembly for coupling a road wheel of an automotive vehicle to the suspension system of the vehicle includes a housing and a hub having a spindle which extends into the housing where it rotates on a bearing having rolling elements arranged in two rows. The spindle carries a target wheel between the two rows of rolling elements, and the housing has a hole which opens into the space between the two rows. Here the housing is fitted with a sensor that monitors the rotation of the target wheel. The sensor has a bushing which is within the hole and a probe which extends from the bushing into the housing where it has a pickup area that is presented toward the target wheel. The bushing is positioned within the hole by an O-ring that is compressed between it and the surface of the hole. The bushing also has a leading surface that leads up to the O-ring and has a diameter only slightly less than the diameter of the hole. It also has a trailing surface of lesser diameter on the other side of the O-ring. The leading surface prevents the probe from deviating from its desired position and facilitates installation of the sensor in the housing.

摘要: A rotational speed detector such as a wheel speed detector has an elongate housing containing a detector unit therein. The detector unit is a molded unit having a sensor element and an integrated circuit chip for processing sensor signals. A front wall of the elongate housing faces a magnetized rotor rotated by a rotating object so that the rotational speed of the rotor is detected by the detector unit. After the housing and a center rod having a terminal wire for leading out the detected electrical signals are connected to each other, a resin mold covering an outside of the center rod and a part of the housing is formed to formulate a unitary body of the rotational speed detector.

The motor carrier has an annular recess open on a side facing away from the motor, and a Hall effect sensor is placed in this recess and held with a T-shaped bracket having a tang that supports the Hall effect sensor partially in this annular recess for protecting it and positioning it adjacent the magnets on the disc.

摘要: A speed sensor for sensing a rotating speed of a wheel is provided. The speed sensor includes a thermoplastic sensor body. A mounting ring is connected to the sensor body. The mounting ring can include a flange portion. A plastic insert is integrally molded into the sensor body adjacent the mounting ring. An active sensor element is located in a lower end of the plastic insert, a face of the active sensor element being vertically spaced a predetermined distance from the flange portion. A pair of terminals is electrically connected to the active sensor element. The pair of terminals extends from an upper end of the plastic insert. The flange portion, when pressed onto a hub associated with the wheel, is adapted to space the active sensor element an operating distance from a tone wheel mounted to the hub.

摘要: A vehicle variable reluctance sensor includes a hollow generally cylindrical sensor housing with an open proximal end. Within the interior of the sensor housing is a coil wound around a “T”-shaped spool. The coil is connected to two electrical terminals by two electrical leads. A channel is formed in the spool between the coil and the electrical leads and the electrical leads are disposed within the channel. The channel is flanked on each side by a lip that extends outwardly from the spool. If the electrical leads become slack under extreme temperatures, the configuration of the channel, in conjunction with the lips, prevents the electrical leads from coming out of the channel and unwinding the coil. As such, it is not necessary to tape the coil or otherwise immerse the coil in varnish to prevent the coil from unwinding.

摘要: A system for a vehicle includes a hollow axle, a wheel hub which surrounds the axle, bearings provided therebetween, at least one nut having a predetermined inner diameter mounted on an end of the axle, and a hub cap mounted to the wheel hub. An exciting element is mounted within the hub cap by a mounting wheel. A sensor member is mounted in the end of the axle and radially spaced from the exciting element. The sensor member has an outer diameter which is less than the inner diameter of the nut such that the wheel hub, the bearings, the nut, the hub cap, the exciting element and the mounting wheel can be removed without having to remove the sensor member from the axle.
