    摘要: A ground-based system and apparatus useful for simulating a high altitude hypobaric environment, the system including a plurality of hypobaric test chambers of different sizes that can be quickly and efficiently evacuated by means of a depressurization apparatus further comprising a plurality of operatively connected vacuum tanks to produce, selectively adjust and sustainably control the hypobaric environment for a desired interval ranging from minutes to weeks. The subject test chambers each have at least one large viewing port providing clear interior visibility to an external observer and desirably also include apparatus for conveniently maneuvering payloads into and out of the test chambers.

The method includes representing each pixel of a terrain display using a geographical location and an elevation above the location, each pixel further represented using at least one of a color value and a grayscale value, receiving a minimum elevation value, setting the at least one of a color value and a grayscale value of the pixels represented by an elevation value less than the received minimum elevation value to a uniform value, and displaying the en-route visible terrain display such that pixels representing terrain that includes an elevation value less than the minimum elevation value are displayed with the uniform value such that non-terrain-impacted, primary-navigation areas of the display are more easily readable.

    摘要: A testing apparatus for determining the enhanced vision capabilities of a system that is designed to assist a pilot in detecting lights and ground features in night and low visibility conditions. One embodiment of the apparatus is suitable for laboratory or production facilities, the other embodiment is used for the flight line by installing it in the aircraft. A simulated pattern is presented by the apparatus wherein the enhanced vision system (EVS) can be calibrated. Further, fog can also be simulated over the spectral band of the EVS. Runway landing lights are also able to be simulated using a readily available light source.

    摘要: A simulator, comprising a cabin including a control mechanism and a plurality of windows. A screen is disposed proximate the cabin windows, and the screen includes a viewing area disposed beneath the cabin. At least one window may be disposed on the bottom of the cabin. A plurality of projectors is used to project images on the screen. The cabin is suspended downwardly from a motion actuator that is adapted to move the cabin in response to adjustments made to the control mechanism. The simulator may be used for operator training on container gantry cranes, straddle carriers, portal or harbor cranes, or tower cranes, as examples.
