    摘要: A hyperboloid contact socket comprises a tubular body of conductive material having at one end an entrance aperture and cavity for receiving a mating pin terminal, and an integral termination extending from the opposite end of the tubular body. The tubular body contains a plurality of conductive wires attached at their inner ends to the inner surface of the tubular body at or near the bottom of the cavity by a press fit plug. The outer ends of the conductive wires are fastened to the tubular body by being wrapped around a reduced diameter section at the open end of the tubular body and secured by a press fit ring. The conductive wires are disposed within the tubular body in an angular disposition to form the shape of a single sheet hyperboloid.

Conductors connect an interior of the socket to circuits within the device, and may be integrally molded with the outer case housing. Separate case housings may be assembled together to form the socket. A resulting socket has a lower profile and a reduced impact to a height requirement within the case, and has a relatively greater strength attributable to the inherent robustness of the case.

A sliding contact is also provided having at least one such wire, wherein a counter-contact is provided whose conductive surface has at least one of the wires touch against it. The spring force of the wire acting on the conductive surface of the counter-contact effects electrical contacting between the wire and the counter-contact and the counter-contact is mobile with respect to the wire, such that the surface of the wire slides over the counter-contact when the counter-contact moves. Components having the sliding contact are also provided, including a potentiometric sensor, potentiometer, sliding dolly regulator, position sensor, rotary switch, electrical motor, generator, wind turbine, slip ring system, actuator, or current collector.

    摘要: A low-insertion force electrical connector for implantable medical devices. The electrical contact includes a housing with a pair of opposing sidewalls each with center openings oriented generally concentrically around a center axis. The housing also includes a recess with a recess diameter. An inner coil is located in the recess with a coil axis generally co-linear with the center axis of the center openings. The inner coil includes an outer diameter less than the recess diameter, and an inner diameter greater than a center opening diameter. An outer coil is threaded onto the inner coil to form a generally toroidal-shape. The outer coil has an outer diameter less than the recess diameter, and an inner diameter less than the center opening diameter. The outer coil is radially expanded within the recess in response to engagement with contact rings on the implantable medical device, such that the outer diameter of the outer coil is at least equal to the recess diameter.

By winding the line segment, there is no need to remove any material from the line segment, and no waste material is produced, thus lowering the manufacturing cost.
