The controller is configured to generate a communication to the service provider for transmission via the wireless transceiver, the communication being based on format information including the format of a balance information query, and to determine whether an incoming message received by the wireless transceiver from the service provider conforms to the balance information message.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for reducing the load of Traffic Plane Function (TPF). According to the obtained indication on whether to perform charging, the TPF determines whether to perform charging operation for the service data flow using appropriate charging rules, if yes, the TPF performs the charging operation for the counting result of the service data flow and submits the charging information to the charging associated entities; otherwise, the TPF does not perform the charging operation for the counting result of the service data flow. Operation in the TPF is optimized such that the TPF only needs to perform necessary charging instead of performing charging operation for the service data flow not needing to be charged. As a result, the load of the TPF and network devices are reduced, system efficiency is improved, and waste of network resources from various operator charging policies, e.g., free of charge policy, is avoided.

    摘要: Call detail records are generated for usage of a telecommunications service established in a telecommunications network, by monitoring messages in a signalling system for co-ordinating operation of the network and carried over signalling links in the signalling system between a service switching function entity and a service control function entity. Messages are selected that relate to instances of usage of the telecommunications service initiated by the service switching function entity to at least one signal switching point in the network. These selected messages are correlated in accordance with the usage instance to which they relate, and information in the correlated selected messages is used to derive a call detail record for an instance of usage of the telecommunications service.

    摘要: A packet communication charge pre-notification system includes a mobile station, a packet communication network containing a mobile communication network connected to the mobile station by radio, and a terminal connected to the mobile station via the packet communication network. The mobile station has a control unit, counting unit, and display unit. The control unit forms packet data from digital data and transmits the packet data to the terminal via the packet communication network in accordance with transmission permission from the user. The counting unit counts the formed packet data before transmission. The display unit displays a communication charge calculated on the basis of the counting result of the counting unit before the packet data is transmitted.

    摘要: An effective possibility for making collect calls available is provided by a method for registering and connecting a collect call characterized in that a calling mobile station sends a USSD message concerning a desired collect call with another mobile station to an intelligent network service in a communication network. The service in the communication network sends a text message with an inquiry concerning the transfer of costs for the collect call to the other mobile station. It is then determined by the other mobile station whether there is a willingness there to accept transfer of the costs of the collect call, and the other mobile station will call back the calling mobile station if cost transfer is has been accepted.
