摘要: A diagnostic system of a vehicle includes an energy absorber sandwiched between a front bumper fascia and a front bumper reinforcement of the vehicle. A sensing tube is located between a portion of the energy absorber and the front bumper reinforcement. A first pressure sensor and a second pressure sensor measure a first pressure of air and a second pressure of air within the sensing tube, respectively. An actuator is configured to actuate and vary a pressure within the sensing tube. A diagnostic module is configured to selectively diagnose the presence of a fault with the sensing tube based on at least one of: a first change in the first pressure in response to actuation of the actuator; and a second change in the second pressure in response to the actuation of the actuator.

摘要: A process for manufacturing a bumper reinforcement having a length, wherein the bumper reinforcement is disposed in front or rear of an automobile body with the length directed in transverse direction of the automobile body. The process includes joining a central part and lateral parts of unequal thicknesses to form a planar tailored blank. The process further includes press forming the tailored blank by hot pressing to produce a bumper reinforcement having a length and an M-shaped open cross section, the bumper reinforcement being curved at end portions of the length toward the open side of the cross section relative to a central portion.

摘要: The present invention relates to a front bumper system for a vehicle. A pair of front side members is arranged along a front-rear direction of the vehicle and arranged on opposite sides of the vehicle and on opposite sides of a cross member structure of the vehicle. Pair of crash box units are mechanically fixated to the front side members. A front bumper is laterally disposed and mechanically fixated to each of the crash box units. A lateral push element is mechanically fixed to one of the crash box units and being arranged to provide a load transfer path via the cross member structure towards the opposing front side member such that at least the front side member on the side of the lateral push element is moved towards the opposing front side member in the event of a crash.

摘要: [Object] To improve load resistance performance in response to collision.[Solution] An end structure of a vehicle according to the present invention includes: a beam 2 that extends in a vehicle width direction; and a connecting structure 3 that connects the beam 2 to a vehicle body frame. In a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the vehicle width direction, the beam 2 includes a first top surface part 2a and a first bottom surface part 2b which face each other, a first side surface part 2c that connects one ends of the first top surface part 2a and the first bottom surface part 2b, and first flange parts 2d that are formed to protrude vertically outwardly at the other ends of the first top surface part 2a and the first bottom surface part 2b. The beam 2 is fixed to the connecting structure 3 by at least one of bonding of a protrusion 6 that is provided in the connecting structure 3 and is arranged to protrude inside the beam 2 to the first top surface part 2a and the first bottom surface part 2b and bonding of a beam attachment member provided in the connecting structure 3 to the first flange parts 2d.

摘要: A secondary bumper assembly is provided and includes a base plate, a secondary bumper, and heel blocks. The base plate includes holes for mounting the secondary bumper assembly to a primary bumper. The secondary bumper is disposed on the base plate. The secondary bumper includes a main body and a base. First and second grooves exist between portions of the main body and the base, which has base segments. The heel blocks include flanges and maintain contact between or at least partially prevent movement between the secondary bumper and the base plate. The base segments slide into gaps between the base plate and the heel blocks. A hardness level of the base segments is greater than a predetermined level to prevent flexing of the base segments in a direction away from portions of the main body opposite the base segments. The flanges slide respectively into the first and second grooves.
