摘要: Packaging for shipping spent fluorescent tubes includes an external paperboard box lined with a plastic bag that encloses a pair of end pads positioned on opposite ends of an array of sleeves. The sleeves form discrete cells in which a spent fluorescent tube can be inserted for shipping. The end pads include foam that is pressed into the ends of the sleeves when the box is shut and confine the tubes to the sleeves in the event of breakage. The foam protects the plastic bag liner by accommodating electrical pins of the lamps and also clamps the lamps in relatively fixed positions while functioning as a shock absorber. The plastic bag is tied closed for shipping so that any mercury which issues from a broken lamp is largely confined to the bag. The packaging better retains mercury for disposition by a recycler, as opposed to release into the environment, and is arranged to serve the convenience of the user for encouraging recycling of fluorescent tubes.

摘要: To retain an electric lamp in position within the box, in which the elect lamp has a base with projecting terminal pins (21), in such a manner that the pins (21) cannot push through and extend from the box. The box is formed with dust flaps (10, 11) which are folded inwardly to form an essentially triangular, inwardly extended projection or bridge. The so folded dust flaps (10, 11) are formed at their free ends with interengaging teeth and recesses, the interengaging apex of the triangular support structure engaging against the base (20a) of the lamp and forming a corner with one of the sidewalls (3) in which the pins (21) from the lamp (20) can fit, while the lamp itself is securely retained in immovable position of the box. The angle of the dust flaps (10, 11) with respect to the adjacent sidewalls (1, 3) can suitably vary within about 45 and 70 degrees.

摘要: An embossed carrier tape system includes a carrier tape having formed therein a number of pockets spaced at equal intervals longitudinally of the carrier tape for accommodating surface mountable electronic parts. A cover tape extends along the length of the carrier tape in superposition thereover on the side where the pocket opening is provided. The cover tape is provided with an engagement wall adapted to be in contact engagement with the inner walls of the corresponding pockets, and is further provided with a buffer (8) expandable longitudinally of the cover tape and extending transversely of the length of the cover tape at locations over the web portions of the carrier tape between adjacent pockets, whereby the need for adhesively bonding the cover tape and the carrier tape is eliminated. Since the cover tape is secured to the carrier tape only by mechanical engagement, it is easier to remove the cover tape from the carrier tape than to peel the cover tape by rupturing an adhesive bond, so that surface mountable electronic parts may be easily placed in and removed from the pockets. In addition, not only the carrier tape but also the cover tape may be reused because there are no flaws or remnants left on the tapes.

摘要: This invention relates to packing methods and materials for packing electrolytic capacitors and the like. This invention provides packing methods whereby capacitors are held in a container tray with a good order and with no rotational movement of capacitor and packing materials wherein packing of electrolytic capacitors solves the problem of capacitor rotation and allows the capacitors to be easily taken out of the container tray. According to this invention, an electrolytic capacitor loaded container tray is taken out of a receptacle and the electrolytic capacitors held in the container tray in an orderly manner can be smoothly picked up for automatic mounting on printed wiring boards.

摘要: A packaging box for receiving a plurality of fragile elongated objects, such as small bottles, ampoules or the like, has a compartmented insert with at least one partition. To enable additionally accommodating a brochure in the folding box in a readily visible and accessible manner, a separate wall is disposed parallel to one broad side wall of the folding box; the partitions adjoin this separate wall, which together with the one broad side wall forms a pocket for receiving the folded brochure.

摘要: A storage device for storing Christmas lights assembled from a vertical core section, a pair of horizontal end sections, and a sheath. The device is constructed from corrugated cardboard. Each opposing end of each of the four sides of the core section includes both a foldable flap and a slot, which is formed adjacent the fold line of the flap. The horizontal end sections, located at either opposing core section end, each include a centrally disposed opening defined by four inward sides. Each inward side has a width substantially equal to the core section sides and includes an inwardly extending tab. When the core section is inserted into the centrally disposed opening, the tabs are received by the slots to secure the core section and end section together. Each end section also includes four locking regions, each locking region having a first folding element and a second folding element. The first folding element folds toward the far surface of the end section such that it overlays the core section flap outwardly folded against the end section. The second folding element then folds into the hollow center of the core section. The core section and end section are thereby further secured together. The sheath encloses and protects articles wound around the assembled core section and end sections during storage.

摘要: A holder for a string of electric lights of the type having a plurality of lamps and corresponding lamp sockets connected at spaced intervals to electrical wiring. The holder is made up of connected upper and lower relatively thin elongated mounting plates along the sides of which are provided uniformly spaced alternating tabs and open ended slots. The upper and lower mounting plates and slots are aligned. Each one of the lower slots is for receiving wiring emanating from the base of a corresponding one of the lamp sockets and each one of the upper slots is for receiving a corresponding one of the lamps, the corresponding lamp sockets then being confined therebetween the upper and lower mounting plates. Two or more of the holders may be connected side by side.

摘要: A packaging system is disclosed for storing and handling electrical connectors and the like. The system employs a plurality of elongated connector-containing tubes. Each tube has an aperture therethrough near each opposite end thereof. The apertures are spaced longitudinally of the respective tubes so that a pair of assembly rods can be passed through the aligned apertures of a plurality of generally parallel juxtaposed tubes. The assembly rods hold the tubes in a generally stacked array and also act as stop rods to close-off the ends of the tubes. At least one aperture in each tube is enlarged relative to the rod passing therethrough for accommodating any variances in the spacing between the apertures in any particular tubes.
