    摘要: A process for the recovery of a low concentration of ethylene oxide from an aqueous solution comprising salts, ethylene oxide and glycol which comprises the steps of:(1) passing the aqueous solution comprising salts and ethylene oxide through a hydrolyzing zone at elevated temperature and elevated pressure for a sufficient length of time to insure the conversion of at least the greater portion of the ethylene oxide to glycols to obtain a dilute aqueous glycol solution;(2) passing the dilute aqueous glycol solution through at least one flasher, wherein water is evaporated in the form of steam thereby producing at the bottom of the (last) flasher a solid-liquid two-phase slurry stream comprising salt-containing solids and a liquid phase comprising glycol, salt and water;(3) sending said slurry-containing stream coming out of the (last) flasher to a centrifuge and centrifuging such stream to produce a solid phase and a liquid phase; and(4) passing said centrifuged liquid phase to a flasher wherein glycols are separated.

    摘要: Process for preparing a basic lithium phosphate catalyst suitable for the gas phase isomerization of an alkene oxide to the corresponding alcohol, in which process an aqueous solution of a lithium compound is mixed in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide with an aqueous solution of a phosphate salt or phosphoric acid, the process being characterized in that the aqueous solution of the phosphate salt or phosphoric acid is added evenly during a period of at least six hours to the homogeneously stirred aqueous solution of the lithium compound, upon which the precipitated lithium phosphate is washed with water and subsequently calcined.

    摘要: A 1,1,1-trihalogeno-4-methyl-3-penten-2-ol is prepared by thermally isomerizing 1,1,1-trihalogeno-4-methyl-4-penten-2-ol. The isomerization reaction may be catalyzed by an acid or a transition metal of Group 6B, 7B or 8 of the Periodic Table of Elements, or a compound thereof. The 1,1,1-trihalogeno-4-methyl-3-penten-2-ol thus prepared is useful as a synergist for herbicides or a physiologically active compound, and, additionally, is useful as a starting material for the synthesis of 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2',2'-dihalogenovinyl)-cyclopropane carboxylic esters which are active ingredients of insecticides.

    摘要: A process for preparing muscone for 1,9-cyclohexadecadiene involving a number of steps. Monoepoxidized 1,9cyclohexadecadiene upon treatment with alkyl lithium is converted into an Alpha , Beta -unsaturated alcohol and oxidized into the corresponding Alpha , Beta -unsaturated ketone. This upon treatment with alkyl magnesium halide in the presence of cuprous chloride is converted to Beta -methyl-cyclohexadecenone and then hydrogenated to homomuscone ( Beta -methyl-cyclohexadecanone). Homomuscone dibromide undergoes a Favorski rearrangement to produce a mixture Beta -and gamma -methyl-cyclopentadecenecarboxylates (3:7) which on treatment with hydrazoic acid is converted into Alpha -methyl-cyclopentadecanone and muscone, respectively.

    摘要: A process for the preparation of ambrettolide and isomers thereof from 1,9-cyclohexadecadiene. Diepoxidized 1,9cyclohexadecadiene is reduced to a mixture of cyclohexadecadiols and oxidized to the corresponding hydroxy ketones. These, upon oxidation in the presence of a boron trifluoride etherate catalyst, are converted into hydroxy cyclohexadecanolides which are dehydrated to form a mixture of isomers of ambrettolide which can be separated by conventional means, if desired.
