    摘要: A device which permits the conveyance of a dry fluid substance from one receptacle to another without the release of a significant amount of dust into the surrounding atmosphere is provided. The device is a housing with an interior volume divided into two sections and having an access opening and a discharge opening. A dry fluid substance is introduced into the device and impinges against an orifice wall having a plurality of orifices therethrough, each sized to slow conveyance of the substance through the housing. The contact with the orifice wall causes the separation of fine particulate matter from the substance. The fine particulate matter dispersed from the substance is drawn by a negative pressure applied to the housing from the inner chamber into the filter chamber where the particulate matter is retained on a plurality of fine filter bag assemblies. At predetermined intervals, the vacuum applied to the device is shut off which allows the retained particulate matter to be released from the filter bags and fall downwardly in the filter chamber through a separate pathway and discharged through an exit tube into the center of the stream of substance after it exits through the discharge opening after the point of discharge, but is encapsulated within the stream of substance which limits the exposure of fines to the atmosphere at the discharge point. A plurality of doors are mounted around the discharge opening and are biased to a closed position. When the substance collected in the housing exceeds a certain amount, the doors automatically open to discharge the substance.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for separating floss from particles conveyed in a primary gas. The primary gas strikes a plate in a closed hopper so that the primary gas, particles and floss are deflected downwardly through an annular passageway to an annular separation section. A secondary gas is jetted radially outwardly in the separation section to deflect the floss to a floss discharge tube. The heavier particles continue falling into a closed particle discharge passageway into which a tertiary gas is jetted so that it flows upwardly to the separation section. The particles but no gas are discharged from the lower end of the particle discharge passageway.

    摘要: An adjustable classifier for the separation of fluid-suspended solid particles in industrial processes and by which the relative proportion of acceptably fine and unacceptably coarse solid particles may be regulated. Adjustability is achieved in an otherwise static classifier structure in which a fluid stream of multi-sized particles is passed through a curved path, by the provision of interleaved fingers movable from a retracted inactive position against an outer boundary surface defining the curved path to an extended position into the stream to re-entrain all particles moved against the outer boundary surface back into the fluid stream. Fine particles so re-entrained will pass from the classifier and relatively coarse particles will be rejected by centrifugal action. The invention also contemplates an adjustable plate member by which the velocity of the fluid stream may be regulated independently of the aforementioned fingers.
